The Unknown Poster Posted December 30, 2017 Report Posted December 30, 2017 Hopefully Roslo gets some time with skilled players. I can see why they were reluctant to call someone up as you have to reward a guy like Roslo by letting him collect the big paycheque but essentially he’s be either not dressing or playing 4th line. But good players find a way.
Floyd Posted December 30, 2017 Report Posted December 30, 2017 Nice to see roslovic get a break but Dano at least deserves a shot at redemption on 4th line first

FrostyWinnipeg Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 Connor Hellebuyck is named the NHL's first star of the week. He finished 3-0 over that stretch-- including a 35-save shutout over the Edmonton Oilers Sunday -- with a combined GAA of 1.67 and save % of .952. Floyd and blue_gold_84 2

Does it really defy logic, though? A proven GM, a proven HC, and some solid talent and depth - all significant advantages compared to previous expansion teams.
Atomic Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 Florida gifted Vegas Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith, and Gerard Gallant. Without that trio we're looking at a very different team. I hope VGK sent Florida a Christmas card. William Karlsson going from fringe 3rd liner to star top six player helps too blue_gold_84 1

A knightly scrap heap! It just seems like a perfect storm more than anything. Who knows if it'll continue but the Knights have themselves in a great position going into the second half of the season. sweep the leg Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 I saw an interview with Doughty and he said that Vegas is maybe the hardest team to play against b/c they give full effort on every shift. That what building a team full of grinders will give you. Getting breakout performances from guys like Karlsson and Haula doesn't hurt either. Atomic, Noeller, Mark F and 2 others 4 1
Noeller Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 I can totally understand a team like this being hard to play against because of the grinders, but I can't figure out how they're scoring.... SPuDS 1
Jpan85 Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 Wonder how much of Vegas home success wains as team start making return trips. I think a lot of their success at home is more to do with unfamiliarity of building etc than the night life. Athletes are creatures of habit and like to have things known and comfortable. blue_gold_84 and JCon 1 1
Atomic Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 VGK has some scoring punch. James Neal has scored 40 in a season, Marchessault scored 30 last year, David Perron and Reilly Smith have both been over 25. The expansion draft was kinder to VGK than any previous expansion team... they got some legit players. Mark F, SPuDS, blue_gold_84 and 1 other 4

Hard to argue that on paper, they're a top 3 team in the league but good for them. Good for the league too. Mark F and SPuDS 1 1
