Rumour was that Columbus was interested in Kane.       I don't blame Buffalo asking for a ridiculous price,  more then likely they will settle with a first rounder and a roster player which is a good return for Kane.

The Blackhawks have been vague about the “upper-body” injury that landed goalie Corey Crawford on injured reserve Dec. 27.

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said he “didn’t want to get into the details of all that” when asked when his goalie was hurt and said he would be out “indefinitely.”

Quenneville said recently he expected Crawford to return this season but repeatedly has reiterated there were no updates on when Crawford would even be back on the ice.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman’s report Tuesday, there was concern last week that Crawford could miss the rest of the season, which could be decimating to the Blackhawks’ playoff hopes.

The 13 names are the Cougars, Eagles, Emeralds, Evergreens, Firebirds, Kraken, Rainiers, Renegades, Sea Lions, Seals, Sockeyes, Totems and Whales.

I feel this would cause a snowflake meltdown.

Yeah. The word is Ojibwe so unless rheee is a meaning I don’t know (very possible) it would seem to be not worth the hassle. In fact it’s a silly name for a team anyway.

Of those listed I think Sea Lions or seals works best.   Ofcourse the NHL had a seals team once which is now the Dallas Stars.

well I don't think they should call it the whales, because that could be confusing if Hartford gets an NHL team again and they want to use Whalers

even though I don't want a team in Seattle right now I'm not opposed to some of these names, but Sockeyes sounds like a name you'd give a minor league baseball team

California Golden Seals. Became Oakland Seals. Became Cleveland Barrons. Merged with Minnesota Northstars. Relocated to Dallas.

They wore white skates didn't they?
