When he plays, he's really good, which is why they got him in the first place. Gonna go ahead and disagree with that. Neufeld is the perfect backup OL cause he can play a little bit, and play basically any position, but he's not a guy you want starting all the time, especially not starting all the time at one of your tackle positions.

Noeller Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 we've had this discussion way too many times...Neufeld is good at everything except staying healthy. Somehow his inability to stay on the field became "he sucks", which just isn't true, nor has it ever been. Sard, Marshall, MC and 3 others 3 3
blue_gold_84 Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 He's a solid O-lineman and has earned his keep the last two seasons as a rotating piece. Durability was a concern in the past for him and that adversely affected his stock, IMO. For what he is, he's an important asset. Fred C Dobbs, MC, SPuDS and 3 others 4 2

Maybe being a backup for a little while has helped him get healthy and play to his prior standards. SPuDS and shadybob 1 1

Just basically win a bar fight every snap... Yes, but the way we play it we have them mashing. Its not about technical difficulty, its about the near 70 lbs weight difference between the two. Couture would be the type of guard youd play in a zone blocking / option offense where he would be pulling a lot. The way we play our line having couture at guard is like playing dressler on dive plays up the middle. TheSource 1

Yeah newfie was straight up turnstiled with regularity last time we had to start him regularly. Hes not good. and not rotational. Remember when harris was averaging 1.8 yards per carry for the first several weeks of his time here? Newfie blocking. TheSource 1

The rest of the line he was part of was no heck, either. That could have affected his play.

Guy is OK as a backup, not good as a starter, the fact that he can't stay healthy is just the cherry on top. Just cause Kyle Walters loves the guy doesn't mean he was actually playing great. He is OK at best, but he's not always at his best. Guy's best situation is to be playing in spot duty cause he doesn't get overwhelmed. TheSource 1

Fatty Liver Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Nightmare scenario. If Bond is not ready to go Neufeld will be facing off against Sewell frequently on Sun., if he goes down they have to bring in Couture to fill his boots and Almondo is going to eat him like Christmas dinner. With Nichols less than 100% this could be fatal to post-season plans, it might be wise to dress Foketi as a backup for this game and flip Hardrick to LG if need be, sacrificing Washington for Coates or JFG. In the end unless there is another possibility only two of Bond, Nevis or Poop is likely to dress. Why they couldn't sit Knox.... I DON'T KNOW.

BigBlueFanatic Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 (edited) Just caught on to the last few min here on 1260am in Edmonton. The show hosts have totally written off the Bombers as "running on fumes" and are guzzling their own hype. Praying for our 2nd place team to "upset" their 3rd place team... MC Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Interesting infographic since pretty much every learned scribe in the country is completely writing off the Bombers. They are a huge underdog even though they are at home it would appear if you listen to the media. Is this fake news? Or are the media just liars? If only I had invented the internet, I would know for sure.

There are a few things peculiar about them, but the idea that Toronto should get out of the East without too much difficulty while the three teams in the West will be part of a brutal dogfight that anyone could win, that seems like a reasonable theory.

You may want to consider - that most of the guys he was starting with have been starters for all of this year - on an outstanding OL. Anyone who doesn't remember what happened when Bond Replaced Newf was just not paying very much attention. I think they're insane if they don't dress Foketi - OL should be last position that is sacrificed. CodyT and wbbfan 2
