BigBlue Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 I've been hearing everywhere this week that momentum means nothing when it comes to the CFL playoffs. Some argue that it's going to be all about toughness, character and "who wants it most". Players being disciplined is crucial. But is it really all about the players? Isn't it true that we fans are the real difference makers? Is there an actual home field advantage in the CFL playoffs? Can't we just cheer our way to victory?
Floyd Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 Isn't it though? I mean really. If you really really think about things aren't we all just part of like everything all the time everywhere. You know... Atomic, bearpants, johnzo and 3 others 1 5
do or die Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 I plan to get the Bombers a playoff win, through the sheer force of my will. OK, Plan A, anyways..... Noeller 1
USABomberfan Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 Op hasn't eaten enough crow yet for that silly quit dissin Chris Jones thread SPuDS, Noeller and Albertabomberguy 3
blue_gold_84 Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 Of course home field is advantage. The OP's gotta be setting some kind of record for the highest number of absurd threads on a forum.
do or die Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 Pack those stands with screaming fans.....and let's find out.
Atomic Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 I agree with BigBlue! Home field is an advantage! bearpants 1

Is there an actual home field advantage in the CFL playoffs? - Yes - it's been tested scientifically. Can't we just cheer our way to victory? - Probably not, but we'll damn well try. blue_gold_84 1

bustamente Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 Home field looks like it might be slick, to be on the safe side have the equipment guys take a little trip to Home Depot before the game for some cleat add on's.
Tracker Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 I hope that the traction is not too bad, as I think we have an advantage in the running game.
BigBlue Posted November 12, 2017 Author Report Posted November 12, 2017 CROWD NOISE IS GOING TO SLOW DOWN THE ESKIES AUDIBLE PROCESSES (just practicing noise on the keyboard)
wbbfan Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 If momentum doesnt exist game to game, calgary would have like 8 GCs in the last 10 years. Home field isnt allways an advantage. The first year or two of our stadium for example. The noise certainly is an advantage. Weve seen flat starts from the bombers. Weve also seen when we get stuck in lulls. A home crowd can affect that too. NOT having the play off buy week is huge, then home field is big as well.

Bad traction is good for the short passing game tho. Thatd be like 3 deep cover guys for free. Harris isnt a sprinter either. He strikes me more as a mudder. He runs hard, pushed the pile and fights for yardage.
BigBlue Posted November 12, 2017 Author Report Posted November 12, 2017 slippery means a defender falling down could cost a TD ..... will also affect jump balls as Reilly throws them up for grabs .... throwing on the run won'r be quite as accurate either .... luck will be a bigger factor then usual ..... overcoming bad luck requires real character
