You mean like his first over all pick?

Of course there will be misses but what can you say about Goossen (2014), Chungh (2015), Corney and Couture (2016 9th & 10th) ?

Interesting, sounds like they will listen to an offer on just about anyone at this point.

Since the Blue are so high on Lankford perhaps we should make a deal. I'm sure Wally would bite. What?

Wally isn't the one who makes the deals.

Rainey will be cut next week if they can’t trade him.

Likely cost is a mid-round conditional pick.

Huh? BC isn't looking to move him. They were just offered a few scenarios via trade from other teams. Why would they cut him?

What does Wally do? No headset on the sidelines, no sign calling, shakes his head a lot . . .

And loves to send his players out on fools' errands that get people hurt.

Rainey is a solid little returner but it would be tough to get him into the line-up for sure....I'd prefer to pursue Burnham IF Hervey is wiling to deal....A receiver of his calibre would go quite nicely with Adams...

Nice cherry picking there. Why don't you take his whole body of work in rebuilding our Canadian depth... cuz it doesn't fit your narrative?

Walters  has done a fantastic job building our cnd depth.

Not sure why this qualifies as cherry picking? One might expect that the first overall pick is a LOCK to be a front line impact player. As for the other picks listed....well done but I’m sure they align with comparable picks across the league.

You'd think. But in the CFL that just isn't the case. Mostly because the 1st overall often isn't the most talented. Just the most talented who isn't going south...which often means there is a few years of development a head at best. Though sometimes you get a good one and they play right away. But that's not the norm.

He was the first overall pick in 2016 cfl draft. Still kicking around with us but has never lived up to the hype.   I was agreeing with you

oh ok. I thought maybe you were using him as an example of a 1st that has been playing like one.

They are replacing him on the roster with Travon Van.  Apparently they are done with Rainey and his contract is guaranteed for the season next week.

Trying to think of the last first overall that has paid off...  Lavertu I'd think

I'm excluding 2015 draft because basically the entire first round paid off...
