Didn't change the fact most of us on here were hoping our hockey team would crush their hockey team. And I'd still rather they not win the cup. But they are the Team of Destiny this season apparently. Maybe it's inevitable. I am torn tonight cheering wise.........I really don't care either way who wins it all. Ovechkin is due.....the Vegas Knight expansion story is something we may never see again in the NHL........ I suppose I will just enjoy the competition and hope both teams put on a great show. iHeart Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 (edited) Now I'm really wishing that the expansion went to QC....otherwise we would be in the finals right now (okay granted so would QC's team but who cares there would have been two Canadian teams in the finals depending on whether we whupped San Jose's butt or whoever we could have faced in round 3 instead of Vegas) yeah this hasn't happened in 11 years...how can I forget I was days away from graduating from High School when the Sens were in the finals Edited May 29, 2018 by iHeart
rebusrankin Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 Ovechkin and the Caps all the way. **** Vegas!
NorthernSkunk Posted May 29, 2018 Author Report Posted May 29, 2018 Vegas is sure having fun with this eh........Don Cherry jumping on the Vegas bandwagon after picking the jets to win in six when they played Vegas is pretty funny.

I'd rather QC get a team and even it up with 32 teams...besides Bettman said he won't make a decision about Seattle at the upcoming BOG meeting in a few weeks, maybe September maybe even later in the year Edited May 29, 2018 by iHeart NorthernSkunk 1
Brandon Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 Man Washington plays so slow at times... that Reaves goal was 10 seconds of lazy and slow play by Washington....
Brandon Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 Dear lord such a lazy clearing attempt costs Washington another goal...
NorthernSkunk Posted May 29, 2018 Author Report Posted May 29, 2018 I just can't help cheering for Reaves.
blue_gold_84 Posted May 31, 2018 Report Posted May 31, 2018 That Holtby save, though. Ovechkin's reaction to this was priceless.
NorthernSkunk Posted May 31, 2018 Author Report Posted May 31, 2018 Lotsa lucky bounces this game.......
Taynted_Fayth Posted May 31, 2018 Report Posted May 31, 2018 I gotta cheer for Vegas because 1. I pick washington in my playoff pool every year (except this) and they shat the bed worse than a riders counting to 12. 2. there's a winnipeg connection in Reaves and Eakin...further adding fuel to the urban legend Winnipeg is a hockey factory. 3.... Mark H. Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 Just add a little more Novacaine - it always works
pigseye Posted June 3, 2018 Report Posted June 3, 2018 Caps have made some nice adjustments the last 2 games, Maurice could learn a thing or two from Trotts.

Goalie Posted June 3, 2018 Report Posted June 3, 2018 (edited) 885 by Fleury. Vegas showing that when Fleury puts up below average numbers...they lose. If Fleury puts up 885 vs Jets its Washington WPG right now. Edited June 3, 2018 by Goalie The Unknown Poster 1

Not accounting for momentum swings and a whole slew of other intangibles (hence the oversimplification), that would amount to 9 extra goals for the Jets in the 4 games the Jets lose. Jets likely win at least 2 of those 4 and force a game 7 at a minimum. Unfortunately, it was the Jets who had sub .900 SP% for the series.

Hellebucyk faced for more situations where he was one on one with a shooter. Fleury usually had support in front of him; when he didn't, the Jets scored most of the time. That's part of the < .900 SP% blue_gold_84 1
SpeedFlex27 Posted June 3, 2018 Report Posted June 3, 2018 Fleury stole the series with the Jets. It's good to see that one trick pony Vegas team down 2-1 & Fleury's sad eyes wondering how that last goal just went in. I'm not watching the series except occasionally I may flick it on for a few minutes here & there. Want the Caps to keep pouring it on. Brandon 1
