Mr. Perfect Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Not happy about this to be honest. I understand the older generation grew up on the Western rivalries, but the current generation has enjoyed the ones in the east. We should be staying in the east IMO. Oh well. Thoughts?
Jpan85 Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Me either. We have for the majority of the past 20 years developed rivalries against the East.
rebusrankin Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Given the mess in the East, I'd rather be there.
Chaosmonkey Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 I thought the rumor was we were staying in the east? I also think this blows and would prefer to stay in the east.
Logan007 Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 To me it's not a huge deal. The most important thing for me is the labor day classic and the banjo bowl, so as long as those are untouched I don't see any big issues. And both of those are a cash cow for the two teams so I don't see them splitting that up as far as rivalries go.
sweep the leg Posted September 12, 2013 Author Report Posted September 12, 2013 Delete this one. I totally won the race...

Fraser Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 how much cash are we getting, enough to pay off Mack and Bucho? Floyd 1

kelownabomberfan Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 no more free pass flukes to the Grey Cup like we got in 2007 and 2011, now we have to earn it like in 1984.
Chaosmonkey Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 how much cash are we getting, enough to pay off Mack and Bucho? Last time the cash was supposedly to cover costs for flights/hotel that were already booked, because it was after the schedule was already out, correct? Think the league comes out with another reason to shoot us some bucks? Precedent set with Hamilton and Toronto getting no strings attached league money recently.

They got money because they suck and needed it. We're not in that boat because we have fans.
NotoriousBIG Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 how much cash are we getting, enough to pay off Mack and Bucho? Botch is a happy camper. He was able to extend his vacation and Disneyland is a lot less crowded once the kids are back in school.
TBURGESS Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 I love that the Bombers will be back in the West. Now all we need to do is go back to those sweet Banjo Bowl jerseys full time. Personally, I'd like to do away with the East/West and have a single division where the top 6 teams make the playoffs. Noeller and MOBomberFan 2
Jpan85 Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Will be no need for divisions when there is 10 teams in the league. Hopefully one day it will happen.

Hopefully one day it will happen. doesn't it make more sense to have divisions when the team is larger? also, I'm trying to think back to when Ottawa was in the league last time, was there a lot of byes with the odd number of teams?
Mr Dee Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Still think we should be alone, in the Central division.

With 10 teams you would have 2 games against every team to get your 18 games. So no need to have a division.

Byes and really weird short weeks.

Three games vs Regina per year... What do we call the third game?
DR. CFL Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 That is why they have not eliminated the bye week when there was an even number of teams, in anticipation of the rotating byes required to facilitate scheduling for 9 teams next year.

Most efficient thing in my opinion is every team gets two bye weeks. With one team per week getting a bye? Does this work with 18 games?

Well, that and it's pretty grueling to go through an 18 game schedule without a week off.
