do or die Posted June 9, 2018 Report Posted June 9, 2018 Bomber game roster: who are these guys? 2nd play from scrimmage.....Ross sacked...fumbles... Willis picks it up and rumbles for 6...... 2nd series goes better for Ross..... ...As some high percentage passing, sets up FG.... Petermann can make tough catches...... Canuck receivers will be a bigger part of this O.... .....due to simply much more skill...... Big hit on KR by T. Cooper..... Gaitor at DB, making some plays..... 2nd stringers getting some pressure on Jennings..... Simonise having couple of assignment issues...... Montgomery getting it done at DE.... Two huge Rainey KR's called back Starting OL for Lions....lots of holding Bomber run blocking, struggling..... Bennett in at QB....has some wheels.... ...but somehow, does not seem that instinctive..... ...then Bennett rolls out .....under throws a long one.... ....R. Randle makes the adjustment, for 50 yd TD catch.... Petermann fends off Odell Wills to help make that happen Trent Corney has wheels...... Montgomery still making plays..... Petermann is stripped of ball, after catch.... ...but makes terrific hustle play to recover it..... FMB bombs 52 yd FG on last play on the half.... Petermann looks like a legit playa.... BC boning themselves with 12 first half penalties...... Streveler comes in...throws it right into Willis's hands... ...good thing Odell drops it..... BC comes out with balanced drive.....TD pass to Burnham Streveler comes out and throws bad INT...returned for TD ...as that bandwagon comes to screeching halt.... 47 seconds...Boom, boom.....BC 27-13 Bomber O sputtering, so far in 2nd half.... Not much happening on Blue kick returns, either.... Burnham takes a hitch for big yards....to set up short TD 34-15. More like the score, most folks expected...... This 2nd half is somewhat gin inducing..... Not sure how to fit Montgomery in this DL rotation.... ...but he has made plays in both games.... Bombers not even attempting to throw down the field... Casher now has a couple of sacks Bomber DL rotation is going to be a team strength.... Streveler finally bombs away to K. Thompkins for TD.... 34-21 is a bit better look....considering the game lineups.... Ross kinda looks like a smoother version of Brohm..... At this stage, I look kinda like a smoother brand of gin.... Tracker Posted June 9, 2018 Report Posted June 9, 2018 It was notable that Ross was better than he looked in the previous game, Bennett looks like he could step in if needed, Streveler was not as good as he looked as in the previous game, and probably not as bad as he looked last night. Simonise was mostly invisible, and I expected better from him. Still, I'm not sure how often he was thrown to. Overall, some prospects played themselves out of jobs, and that's what the coaches wanted to settle. Sunday will be interesting
do or die Posted June 9, 2018 Author Report Posted June 9, 2018 Tough go for the QB's.....no starters on OL or R, and no Harris. I frankly would of been amazed, if any of these guys had lit it up. That said, we may be looking and trying to peer through a cloud of dust....for the next month, as far as QB.
LeBird Posted June 9, 2018 Report Posted June 9, 2018 Somehow things really do not look all that bad. BC played their top two receivers a lot against our hopefuls. Our QB's were without what might be the best Oline in the country. Add Harris and our regular receivers and our offence will still miss Nicholls but we'll be OK. ddanger and Wanna-B-Fanboy 1 1

Are we going to miss Nicholls?? Abso-freakin-lutely. But our depth at both O and D is tremendous and while things are going to be painful I agree I think we are going to be just fine.

Lankford played a very strong game and should be a starting receiver again. Simonise could be cut from that performance if he were not Cdn, but most likely will be on the PR. Bigblue204 1
17to85 Posted June 9, 2018 Report Posted June 9, 2018 This game filled me with confidence. They left a ton of star power in Winnipeg and the guys they took still managed to look like they can play in this league. Also not worrying about injuries cause the depth looks to finally be at a point where guys can step in and not miss a beat. Kudos to Kyle Walters. Had himself a nice off season. blitzmore and Blue-urns 2

That was as vanilla as I've seen from a starting Lions O. Looked like they were jogging. That said there were some really good things happening on the Bombers side. Peterson? Peterson? He looked like he can play. Liked your kicker. Ross with protection can make completions. Bombers are a better team than most give credit for. WithNichols they're top 2, though not many believe me. do or die Posted June 11, 2018 Author Report Posted June 11, 2018 Jennings just seems like a boom/bust guy.....this chucking it up, on a team with less talent at R, would probably look fugly....... Dr Zaius 1
