We definitely have a few WRs currently there like Lankford who aren't cutting it. Cant give a guy who doesnt return kicks our kick off return mans job.

Maybe the riders. Id a kept randle and white around on the pr. With the injury history of demski, dressler, and adams + the drops/bad year last year by bowman Id rather be stocked up at WR then any other position right now. I also would have kept monty. This is true, and bowman has always been a guy who misses a lot of passes. BUT he is the perfect red zone fit for us. And we dont need him to go for 2k yards. Parker may leave or he may not. He had chances as a FA to go to other teams over the years but chose not to. He has a well paying job in Calgary from what I've read & he may not want to leave it. His entire family is in Calgary as well so unless the Riders or another team overpays I think he retires. Mark F 1

What db do we have thats also a return man aside from fogg on the active roster? having two Dbs with soo few spots for depth dbs and the amount of work those depth dbs get called on to do is also a bad idea. Its too much work load. If any thing Id look at petermann demski and simonise doing it but we didnt give them any reps returning kicks/punts.

There is life after football. Joe Pop retired at 29. Dave Sapunjis of the Stamps the same age, I believe. Both had ongoing business interests. I'm sure a lot of other guys have retired early & walked away from the game while they could. Edited June 10, 2018 by SpeedFlex27

BigBlue Posted June 10, 2018 Author Report Posted June 10, 2018 (edited) 2 hours ago, AKAChip said: I don’t necessarily agree on point one. Bond is literally the only guy his own scouting staff has brought in. Hardrick and Bryant shouldn’t fall under that category. Point two is fair but that’s certainly not something I’m arguing against. Point three is fair as well though I would argue that paying for free agents is the easiest part of a GM’s job. The scouting work is already done on these guys and teams don’t generally win based on the strengths of their free agent signings solely because it’s generally not a cost effective way of building. That all changed when the players association went to 1 and 2 year contracts ... no longer are the FA's generally over the hill aging veterans, has-beens who are just after the best possible paycheck ... now there is freedom of movement and players go where they want ... there is also deliberate decisions made like with Travis Bond where a player can demand a huge paycheck based on an accomplishment (here a recognised allstar performance two years ago) and that player would just upset the team's salary structure. Such players better live up to expectations immediately or they end up cut quickly within a couple games or at the season's end: just ask Enoch Muamba. Because of this factor good players are taking more modest salaries and enjoying the CFL with a club they want to be on. That's why teams like Winnipeg and Calgary's management are becoming so attractive. Edited June 10, 2018 by BigBlue Bigblue204 1

Meaning we will be spread too thin to have both return duties done by DBs. The exposure to injury, and all that extra running through out the game would leave one starter and our dime on weary legs late in games. And not too likely to play a full season. How many of those DBs are returners? I dont recall any returning kicks or punts in the pre season. Sayles doesnt come with a return pedigree. Priester also doesnt, but also doesnt really have the return man athletic tool set. Cooper has the tool set but not the experience. Both are more kick cover guys then return guys. Kenbrell thompkins returned 4 kick offs in the nfl for 15 yard average. Basically as an up man on a short kick. Mark F 1
