Would you sit Bowman (and start Simonise as 8th Nat starter) and put Wild as 4th Int LB on the process ?

We're a little bit thin on the D side.

No way...Simonise hasn't proved anything yet

Bowman hasn't done anything yet... and he doesn't play ST, I believe.

Simonise has not given his opportunity yet except for the last minutes (mop up time) in Mtl game.

Foucault is a liability at guard. The guy will be out of the league before he even has a chance to play tackle.

Lulay is a thousand times better than Jennings but with that o-line I can’t imgaine this change makes much difference.

It absolutely will. Jennings 1st int was a horrible over throw to a guy basically standing right in front of him. His 2nd pick was also bad, but Biggy made a nice play on it as well. Don't forget about the wide open WR he missed on the sideline that would have been 6. The lions left some points on the field because of Jennings play. They will be better with Lulay.

Of course they will be better with a better quarterback, no one would suggest otherwise. The issue is, with that o-line and defence it almost certainly won’t be enough.

Lulay>Jennings

But Lulay hasn't played any meaningful games in almost a year. Gotta think it'll take him at least a half to get back into the rhythm. I would rather play him now instead of 3 weeks from now

And that left side of their OL is going to get blown up.

I think this is the perfect scenario for us honestly.

That's very true too!

CFL GAME NOTES -

Confirmed - Travis Lulay starts!

- it will be the 70th of his career but only his 5th in the last 48 BC Lions games since Sep 3/15. He last started on Sep 8/17 but was injured on the 2nd play from scrimmage.

- Chance to Sweep: Winnipeg has an opportunity to sweep the BC Lions and accomplish what they have done only 4 times since 1996 (with the return of Montreal & the All-Canadian CFL). Their last sweep against BC on Oct 14/16.

- Andrew Harris v BC: Ran for a season-high 109 yards last week, his 17th career 100+ yard game and first-ever against his former club. In 6 games vs BC, Harris has averaged 6.0 yards per carry (66 for 393) and has added 38 catches for 276 yards in those contests.

- BC v WPG since 2011: Winnipeg won the first game of the 2018 season series last week at Investors Group Field and this game will be the second of a back-to-back set. The last 5 meetings have alternated between Bombers and Lions wins and no team has won twice in a row since October 2016. Since 2011, 11 of the 17 matchups have been decided in the last 3:00 - Winnipeg leads 9-8.

- 4 straight TD drives: The Blue Bombers scored a TD on all four of their possessions from midway through the first Quarter until late in the opening half in last week's victory. It is the ONLY time that Winnipeg has scored on 4 straight drives in the entire period where the CFL has detailed drive-possession data (1995 to 2018).

- Ty Long: Has a CFL-best 51.8 yard punting average, well ahead of the CFL record of 50.6 yards set by Jon Ryan in 2005.

- Rainey: Leads the CFL in combined yards at 212 per game, on pace (3816) for the #2 mark all-time, just behind Chad Owens (3863). __________________________________________________________________________________

He has been a violent brute on teams - just the way we like 'em. But I think he's nicked.

Yeah, Gauthier was injured and is out for a couple of weeks.

With Lulay starting, this team is completely different than the team we saw last week.  Eventhough  he hasn't played in  awhile, his experience is heads and tails above Jennings.  He may not be able to run like he used to but his arm is still accurate and his football smarts can take them a long way.

We may not want to blitz tonight as much as we did last week.

That fricken Lulay is good.

He gives the Lions a much better chance to win than does Jennings. BUT,

Even though they say his body is ready..will his mental state be ready?

If the Bombers are aware, then they might shell-shock him. If the Bombers are not mentally prepared, then Lulay can do his thing..which he likes to do against the Bombers.

It could be tricky, but there’s no reason why this version of the Blue can’t shut down BC again, and keep them behind us in the standings.

I think there was plenty of pressure just from the 4 down men or was I in an alcoholic haze?

If they run the infamous soft zone, Lulay will get the ball out before pressure gets through. Jennings’ play had a lot to do with their crappy OL play last week.
