ALuCsRED Posted July 17, 2018 Report Posted July 17, 2018 Hey Toronto, It's time again to warm up (or is it cool off) the 28 ounce Stella Artois machine as I am going to buy one or two of these in the first half (yes, these aren't sold in the 2nd half). BMO Field, here I come. I'm ultimately ending up in Toronto this weekend and will be attending this game along with some Jays games (Friday and Sunday). Anyone else form this board going to be their? Bluto? I'll be the guy wearing a white 31 Leggett jersey and a white Bombers hat. I'll most likely start sitting in the south endzone, then move behind the bombers bench to sit with whatever Bombers fans are there. Pop by and say hello. PS I bought my ticket on Stubhub for $9US to sit in the endzone. Works out to about $17 with all fees. There are two more $9US tickets available next to me yet. Even for Winnipeggers, this price is cheap. Mark F and bearpants 2
Nolby Posted July 17, 2018 Report Posted July 17, 2018 Total attendance.... 14 people, 7 if you exclude staff.
ALuCsRED Posted July 17, 2018 Author Report Posted July 17, 2018 If we don’t support all franchises, the league will fail. I’ve attended games in All locations except BC and Ottawa, having season tickets in Edmonton and off course, Winnipeg. Games are fun everywhere. It’s better when you team is playing, but all are good. Toronto is finicky with all sports. 6 milllion people and only the Raptors and Leafs are near sell outs. Jays, Argos and even the weekday TFC game I was at last summer wasn’t sold out. Trains to and from the games, CN Exhibition was on, and a good to great atmosphere. I don’t get it. BigBlueFanatic Posted July 21, 2018 Report Posted July 21, 2018 I wanted to laugh and smh at the same time. Yeah we make fun of Argo attendance (rightly so), but I’m frightened for the health of this franchise, and by extension, the cfl. bearpants 1

kelownabomberfan Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 in fairness, their "empty seat night" promotion seems to have been their best marketing gimmick yet. TBURGESS and Nickthesizz 2
ALuCsRED Posted July 22, 2018 Author Report Posted July 22, 2018 The top half of the east side is closed off. West side had more people.

I’ve done every stadium but Edmonton, Hamilton, and Ottawa! Hoping to get lucky with an Ottawa/Hamilton back to back Bomber road trip if the scheduling gods help me out next year.
Fraser Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 I got club seats for 40 each 10 mins before kickoff. It was dead af.
ALuCsRED Posted July 23, 2018 Author Report Posted July 23, 2018 Nice. I was the end zone for $9US from Stubhub. I supported the team with beer sales.
Goalie Posted July 23, 2018 Report Posted July 23, 2018 Under 11000. Toronto is seriously such a piece of **** sports town.
Brandon Posted July 23, 2018 Report Posted July 23, 2018 2 hours ago, Goalie said: Under 11000. Toronto is seriously such a piece of **** sports town. Considering way back in the day Baltimore averaged 37 000 per game as a brand new team with zero CFL history and a tonne of other football competition.... it truly is baffling why no one goes to the games? I can understand BC because of the massive amount of minorities with zero interest in football.... but Toronto really has no excuses....
SpeedFlex27 Posted July 23, 2018 Report Posted July 23, 2018 2 hours ago, Goalie said: Under 11000. Toronto is seriously such a piece of **** sports town. The "claim" is there is a strike going on at the grounds where BMO is or something like that. There was no parking so no one showed up. All I hear are excuses. Other excuses are the Jays are playing, the PNE is on, ya da ya da ya da. Pretty lame ones as that.
ALuCsRED Posted July 23, 2018 Author Report Posted July 23, 2018 My game day experience was great. After taking the UP express from the airport to Union Station, it was a mess of construction, google maps, walking in circles, and repeat before I found the TTC link down waterfront to get to the game. It was much easier taking the GO train from the west last year. The way home to the airport was easy. Along the way in I did meet a pair of Rider fans from Victoria BC trying to complete their goal of attending games in each CFL stadium. Walking to the stadium early, I skipped the Argos tailgate and walked over to the private unofficial tailgated on the siuth side of the stadium. Wearing full Bomber gear, I was apprehensive about walking into someone’s tailgate. I immediately was welcomed by a great bunch of people. 3 minutes later I was part of their crew, being offered food, beer and even their prized “Jungle Juice”. These guys and girls did it right... 55 gallon hitch mounted BBQ drum (painted in double blue) cooking burgers, dogs, sandwiches, ribs, and pizzas. One of the tailgaters was Paul Palma, a short stay Blue Bomber from the 1984 Grey Cup Championship team. The game itself was great. The Bomber fans congregated on the west side behind the bench. Plenty of Blue jerseys in the crowd. The game was a near perfect road game to attend (minus the two fumbles). Lots of fist bumps, high fives, and cheers to go around the whole time. Side note: the Jays did have great suppport all weekend. I was there Friday and Sunday. Two big late inning wins. Hopefully the bats can keep the momentum for the rest of the year.
