Mark F Posted August 10, 2018 Report Posted August 10, 2018 (edited) Which player will be the Wpg/game/league star on Offence this week? Pick your poison Hamilton. What a lineup on O for the Bombers. Heat Warning in effect for: City of Winnipeg and forest fire smoke. Stay well players and fans. Edited August 10, 2018 by Mark F
Nolby Posted August 10, 2018 Report Posted August 10, 2018 Gonna be a scorcher tonight. Went on the ticats fan forum and they're all saying the Bombers are a nobody team. I hope we absolutely torch Hamilton tonight and move into a second place tie with Edmonton. 38-18 Bombers

Mr Dee Posted August 10, 2018 Report Posted August 10, 2018 Game Day Notes - CFL.ca - Coach O'Shea: Mike O'Shea comes into this game with a career record of 39-40 and needs a win to reach the .500 mark in his 80th game leading the Bombers. The last time his career mark was .500 or better was on Sep 26/14 prior to a 16-11 loss to Hamilton. So it will be Hamilton again that is the opponent in this regard. O'Shea's coaching career can be divided by a very key date - July 28, 2016: the date Drew Willy was replaced.. W13-L28 until July 28 (.317) Jul 28/16 Jun 26/14 To Present -W26-L12 since (.684) - Coach Jones: A win in their last game snapped a 3-game losing streak and returned his career W-L above .500 at 9-8. Since taking over on September 4, 2017, Coach Jones has never been below .500 - last week's win in Montreal prevented that. What is remarkable is that both O'Shea's and Jones' W-L records are tied to #1 QB changes - O'Shea's in 2016 mid-season, and Jones on taking over and moving to Jeremiah Masoli as #1. - Hamilton up +28: The Ti-Cats' 28-0 lead last week at Montréal was the largest by any road team in all of CFL history and matched the all-time record set by three previous teams - Hamilton Offence: The Tiger-Cats come in with the #2 ranking for Net Offence at 411.3 yards per game in 2018. They have gone over the 500-yard mark twice already, something they did just once across all of the 2016-2017 seasons. - Bighill Tackle Rate: The last full CFL season for Adam Bighill was 2016 when he made 108 defensive tackles for BC on the way to his fifth consecutive all-star season. That equates to 6.0 tackles per game, precisely the same as he is in 2018 with 42 to date. He now has 551 for his CFL career good for #21 all-time. - Dressler 119: Weston Dressler's consecutive game reception streak is up to 119 in a row (last game w/o a catch: Aug 12/10). His 119-game streak is the 8th longest in CFL history (next ahead at #7 is Craig Ellis at 120 in a row). He is 200 yards away from becoming the CFL's 17th 10,000 yard receiver and is 3 catches short of becoming the CFL's 13th player to reach 700 career receptions. - Jeremiah Masoli 11 of 12 at 300+: Led Hamilton to 5 TD drives in 10 possessions last week before giving way. He had exactly 300 passing yards to make it 11 times in his last 12 games with 300+ passing yards. Only two players have ever achieved that kind of 300+ consistency: Sam Etcheverry in 1955-56 with 14 out of 15 games & Doug Flutie in 1991-92 with 12 out of 13 at 300+. On the down side, Masoli has thrown an INT in all seven games this year. - Matt Nichols: In his first two starts of the season, Nichols TD:INT Ratio was just 1 to 3 on 57 attempts. In his last two starts, he has turned that around completely with 4 TD passes and just one interception in 54 passes. - WPG Field Position #1: In 2018, the Bombers have started drives on average at their own 39-yard line, well above the 35-yard line CFL-wide average ... and tied with Calgary for #1 overall. Winnipeg opponents have started their drives at the 35-YL on average. - Bombers Off a Bye Week: Since 2014 and the return of the CFL to a nine-team league, the Blue Bombers have had 7 games coming off a bye week and are 3-4 under Coach O'Shea. However, after going 0-3 in post-bye games in 2014-15, they have since gone 3-1 in their last 4 outings. They were the last team to get a bye in the 2018 CFL schedule. - Bombers vs Tiger-Cats: Hamilton has won the last two meetings with Winnipeg including a 31-17 triumph at Tim Hortons Field on Jun 29/18. They will be trying to sweep the Blue Bombers for the first time since 2015. Since 2011, Hamilton is 10-9 .526 vs Winnipeg and over that period that mark is their highest winning pct. against any current West Division club. - Interceptions run: Jeremiah Masoli has thrown at least one interception in all seven games this year. - WPG Last 4 First Halves: Over their last 4 games the Bombers have started fast outscoring opponents 93-30 in the 1st half. - WPG Sack Free: The Bombers have not allowed a sack in their last 20 possessions and just one in their last 30 drives overall. - Converting 2nd-&-Long: Hamilton is #1 in the CFL in converting in 2nd-&-7+ yard situations at 44%. - Red Zone Defence: The Ti-Cats have stopped opponents 13 times out of 19 Red Zone chances, #1 in the CFL at just 32%. - Back-to-back 150's: Jalen Saunders comes in with receiving totals of 154 and 150 yards in his last two games. - Brandon Banks: Has gone over 100 yards in 5 of his last 6 games. Bit of a misleading stat when you consider the Bombers were in the East up until the 2014 season. Mr Dee 1

SpeedFlex27 Posted August 10, 2018 Report Posted August 10, 2018 Guys like Justin Dunk & the national media sure don't respect the Bombers. Every game they seem to be picking the other team.

LeBird Posted August 10, 2018 Report Posted August 10, 2018 Our team goes the way our defence goes. When the defence is hot the offence seems to follow suit. I hope we can serve our Eastern critics crow and steel sandwiches. Otherwise, we can always hire some RF guys to chant the "Refs Suck" litany. shadybob 1

SpeedFlex27 Posted August 10, 2018 Report Posted August 10, 2018 Not convinced Masoli is an elite qb YET. He ran Johnny out of town so there's that.

Jpan85 Posted August 11, 2018 Report Posted August 11, 2018 Delvin Breaux our tonight big loss for Hamilton probably been best CB in the league this year.
bustamente Posted August 11, 2018 Report Posted August 11, 2018 Game Plan Offence comes out firing on all cylinders Defence bend bend bend Special Teams nice and tight 2pts. Thanks Ti Cats you can go home know
JuranBoldenRules Posted August 11, 2018 Report Posted August 11, 2018 D needs to rush 3-4 almost every down. Force Masoli to be accurate, don't let him simply chuck it around.

AKAChip Posted August 11, 2018 Report Posted August 11, 2018 That was the worst half of Nichols’ life. Jesus. Fraser 1
O2L Posted August 11, 2018 Report Posted August 11, 2018 (edited) 8 minutes ago, AKAChip said: That was the worst half of Nichols’ life. Jesus. Or is Adams running the wrong routes? Hard to say. That near pick looking like Nichols threw a fade and Adams ran a streak. Thompkins also has an easy TD if he’s not interfered with which would definitely affect Nichols’ stat line. The Dressler near-TD-drop was also a beautifully placed ball. But yeah, if those passes to Adams were Nichols’ fault and not Adams’, then not a great half. Edited August 11, 2018 by O2L
Booch Posted August 11, 2018 Report Posted August 11, 2018 From my vantage point here Nichols is just looking off tonight. Not seeing open guys in the mid range and out wide and forcing things...should change it up with Strevs rebusrankin 1
