My Trump and Kim Jung un tapes are nothing compared to the ones I have on Justin Trudeau.   (ha ha) I doubt he is a Bombers fan.

I doubt that Justin Trudeau knows a football from a meatball.  But that never stops him from having a photo-op:

While Justin does indeed appear to love a selfie, this pic was taken as a result of a misunderstanding.  Apparently Justin said "I want to have a picture taken with football players in the worst way."  His aids immediately called Saskatchewan.

Greetings from the High Desert of New Mexico, USA!

HOW ABOUT THOSE BOMBERS?  They almost gave me a heart attack last Friday night after giving me the impression the game was under control at half time.  However, a win is a win.  And we have a huge game this week.  I haven't seen the odds of a Bomber's victory yet.  Are they favored and by how much?

On a funny note, I was at my local American Legion Post Saturday night for Karaoke and they had an NFL preseason game on the TV.  A friend asked who I was rooting for this year and I said the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.  He got this puzzled look on his face because he had never heard of the team or a city called Winnipeg.  I know, I know.  The things I have to put up with down here with these Americans.  You Canadians have it so easy above the border (ha ha).  Anyway, I think I need to go online and order a Bomber's shirt to wear around my small town and to Karaoke.  Of course, with the crowd I hang out with, they'll ask me to sing "I'm a Lumberjack" again.

I am doing some additional homework to make sure I completely understand your posts.  You know....offence vs offense, favourite vs favorite, etc etc.  Is there a translator online from Canadian to American?  (ha ha)  Yes, I feel as if I better put the (ha ha) in just to make sure there are no misunderstandings.  I am joking.  Please feel free to give me a hard time as well.  I have a very thick skin and I doubt you will hurt my feelings.

I am also watching some old videos to become more accustomed with my new team, my new league and my new Canadian friends on this forum.  I think I found the perfect videos online....see below.

Well, I have run, eh.  I will keep my fingers crossed for our Bombers.  I have a good feeling this week about a victory but, honestly what the BLEEP do I know being this far south?   After all, I am closer to the Mexican border than I am to the Canadian (only 244 miles to Juarez....the "fun" city of Mexico, right?) (ha ha).

GO BOMBERS!!!!

welcome Doug, we have been through a ton of struggles in the past but it seems you have joined at the right time, this team has a ton of history and we look to try to return to those winning ways, check out this video of the greatest player to ever touch a CFL field.

Welcome Doug!  I am Canadian born and live in Seattle now, but my wife is from southern Colorado and I have fallen in with a bunch of folks who've moved up here from ABQ so I've eaten a lot of green chiles and hooo boy nothing I ever ate in Canada prepared me for how goddamn delicious they are.

You want some good Southwest / Canadian fusion eating, try green chile poutine -- just use a green chile burrito sauce instead of brown gravy.

I am tired of the MFL......used to be the NFL.  You know, the Millennial Football League with overpaid American children who are throwing temper tantrums and using the game to advance their insane political views not to play the actual game of football?

You should know that the CFL is totally chill about protests that take place during the nation anthem.

I suspect that a lot of American-born CFL players hold the same beliefs as NFL players -- when the police brutality protests were at their height last fall, there were a number of news articles asking the opinion of CFL players and my memory is that they were pretty sympathetic to the protesters...

GREAT to hear from you.  Yep, I get the cravings for green chile about every 2 to 3 days.  We pick up the chopped (and those wonderful flour tortillas) from the Golden Pride restaurant.  Hey, I love Seattle as well.  I had some business trips up there when I lived in the SF Bay Area.  Southern Colorado is beautiful.  You could give me a cabin the Conejos River Valley and I would take it in a heart beat.  Thanks for the message.

Well I don't support the protests. I have friends in law enforcement and I know the real story.  The protests are just a side show and ridiculous.  They are losing fans and frankly the quality of play has dropped significantly anyway.  I'm fine with leaving it behind for good.  But, that's me.

Oh come off it. The protests are totally fine, only people who have something against them are the folks who are upset that black folk dare to speak out about how they are treated.

This from a white Canadian?

You want to talk about oppression.... look at what CFL players are paid to endure the same brain damaging injuries compared their NFL cousins?  Now, that is oppression eh?

(I thought I had the corner on "hoser" in this group but, I definitely have some challengers....ha ha)

You’ve got to be an idiot if you think that’s the only reason they’re kneeling. They can support it all they want for the publicity but I sure as hell will not.

post racist **** I call you a racist.

I took that Ancestry.com DNA test last year.  I can play all sorts of race cards.

I have the White European spectrum, Southern European, Middle Eastern, North African, Russian.  Almost everything except Asian.  And of course, who doesn't have any Irish in them.

I have several "cards" I can play when I want to deflect attention my responsibility for my situation.  Booo....Hooo.  I think you are really uncovering that I am not a Millennial.  That is what you are picking up on.  (ha ha)

This is the response? Thank you for completely proving what I'm saying.

No one forces anyone to play in the CFL so how is it oppression?

How about if you disagree with the protests you give me some legit reasons why it's bad that people are exercising their right to free speech.

Just because I am a white Canadian doesn't mean I don't have eyes and ears to see what's going on. Some players are using the platform they have to bring attention to the differential treatment of people of different races, and if you don't think different groups get treated differently then you really aren't paying attention.

Just because you're old doesn't mean it's OK to be racist.

But her emails tho amirite?

It’s the same here as there except our country is much more socialist with quieter opposition in fear of being called a racist. Just enjoy the football, there are crazy’s on both sides of the boarder.

It's New Mexico.  Of course I can "acquire" a jersey by all sorts of means.  Actually paying for it with real American credit or cash.  Or print off some money with that machine in my garage.  I can trade farm animals for it.  I can steal it.  Again, I'm a New Mexican.  We're different than the rest of the Americans. Plus I'm from Albuquerque.  Here's a video that helps...

Do they think the Queen is the Governor of New England?

C'mon 17to85, leave DougR alone. He, like the rest of us come here to get away from the everyday **** of real life. You can go discuss this in US Politics.  I also would like to suggest anyone who wants to talk about the NFL protests also do it over there.
