Wasting cap space on players your coach won't even use makes a lot of sense.

No it does matter what the coach thinks of them. But the coach grade of a player isn't the sole decider of whether they are signed/ brought in for a look.
Zontar Posted September 8, 2018 Author Report Posted September 8, 2018 Almost near total collapse of a defending championship team. Big story here but TSN will dance around it. pigseye 1

That's what professionals do, they put the good of the team before their own personal feelings. HardCoreBlue 1

It's not his personal feeling, it's his professional assessment which is important to take into consideration.

The question was why did Popp sign Carter if he knew Trestman hated him? I agree with you, you're arguing against the wrong poster.

You indicated that it doesn't matter what a coach thinks if the GM believes bringing in a player will help the team even if the coach doesn't want him. That"s what I responded too.

Call it the Argo Bounce or whatever but that Argo team had good chemistry. They played well as a team and all the parts worked well together. They got hot at the right time and a lot of that is Ricky Ray and the ability of Trestman to manage a football game. None of that chemistry is on display this year because Ricky Ray and some other key components are gone. It's Toronto. They'll find a way. They always do.

Floyd Posted September 9, 2018 Report Posted September 9, 2018 Lots of focus on Osh's mistakes this year... but Trestman is coaching like a total rookie. Must be a mess with offensive play calling - Trestman, Condell and Calvillo - their game planning does not look like a Condell game at all... Wonder if he'd be interested in an HC position...?
