What do people think "soft" coverage is?  This is Canadian football.  You can't jam receivers who get a 15 yard running start.

But you can run with them/beside them as a defender ......

Sure but when they break back towards their own line of scrimmage they have a huge advantage.  That's Canadian football, the offense has a huge advantage with unlimited motion.  You can cover off short routes and see if you get beat deep or lean more on the deep routes and come up to make plays on the ball and tackles.  Most teams choose the latter because they don't want to give up multiple 70 yard plays every game.

Big win and we can cheer for the Esks to pull it out on Monday because the door is now open for us to take second from Saskatchewan.

Winner tonight: Lapolice bringing the offense back to 2017 level making sure Nichols pulled the trigger quickly.

Loser: Richie Hall going back to full on suck mode and needing the Ottawa offensive lineman and Sinopli to bail his butt out.

LaPo playcalling inconsistent. Shows some imagination on some plays rolling out Nichols or misdirection.  Then goes entire series into a shell when the game was on the line in the 4th qtr.  Stops using what works. Some bad playcalling in the Red Zone results in FGs instead of touchdowns.  Hall being Hall with his soft zone in the second half let Ottawa back into it.  Both coordinators have to go.

Has anyone stopped that pitch play to Harris in the redzone yet?  No they haven't, get him on the edge vs a SAM or HB, TD.  Instead we run two straight dropbacks from 1st and goal from the 5 and kick a field goal.

While I certainly thought Lapolice should have used Streveler in that one redzone series in the 4th, the offense overall was still way better than what we had been seeing.

I put the biggest blame on Hall for going back to his dumb prevent defense and choking away a 15-point cushion.  Only he could do that and stop bringing pressure.

Yep. Harris gets us to the 5 and doesn't see the ball again. Horseshit playcalling.

The problem was too much blitzing, and too predictably blitzing Bighill and JSK in the 4th Q.  That's what he always reverts too.  I didn't see any prevent.  They were never that far ahead against the clock.

In general I'd like to see our D focus more on making tackles and less on trying for kill shots every down.  Alexander is the worst offender, wrap up and finish the play.  Don't let them bounce off you for another 5-10-15 yards if not more.
