USABomberfan Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 I say keep Lankford relegated to kick duties. He's better at that than he is at being a receiver. Blueandgold 1

At least bring someone in off the street who might kick in a meaningful game, ideally a young Canadian. Who cares? Medlock is going to be our kicker next year, not whoever we sign off the street. Let Lankford kick and have some fun before the playoffs.

Both clubs know this game is meaningless, it doesn't even affect how we finish in the standings. This game, and its results are nothing more than a formality. Meaningless to Maas? Sure, that's why he's dressing his starters who will play all day. A big eff you to the backups on the Esks by their HC. He's coaching to save his job. Eternal optimist and Rod Black 1 1

I guess the logic here would be they could celebrate a .500 season? 9-9 does sound better than 8-10, though missing the playoffs is still missing the playoffs. No issue with him being a jerk to their backups - they're a divisional rival let their team crash and burn all they want. Rod Black 1
Goalie Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 (edited) Say what u want but Lankford is in the cfl history books now Only player to score a TD and kick a FG in the same season Edited November 3, 2018 by Goalie 3rd in 25 years. Westy did it as did Pasaglia. SPuDS 1

SpeedFlex27 Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 Williams with the spectacular catch for the Esks TD. Reilly can do that all day long. No one cares anymore. He chucked it all year long & they still missed the playoffs. Ha. Ha. Ha.
NorthernSkunk Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 Big Chris is looking good. And as are others.
SpeedFlex27 Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 Well, they gave us that 80 yard TD. I thought he was touched. But I'll take it!

SpeedFlex27 Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 Maas is a Hervey guy. If fired, I can realistically see him as HC in BC.

The other side of the coin is if Maas sits his starters it's a big eff u to them and even a bigger eff u to his starters if he wins with the back ups. He actually would be taking less of a risk by starting his back ups because if he loses today to our predominately 2nd team there will be a bus ticket waiting for him at the end of the game.

Example, Don Jonas led the league in passing & scoring as a qb/kicker in 1971. He won the Schenley Award in 1971 as the CFL's MOP.

Guess that is what every other HC is saying to their starters who are sitting then? But I get your point. Disagree, though.

SpeedFlex27 Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 Good for Dunigan not going for the Rod Black bait that the bad 2nd half of the season was due to Derel Walker's injury. Goalie 1
