Guy was the king of excuses.  Every off-season he'd train with some kicking guru and have it all figured out and then he'd come in and hit 70% of his kicks again.

70% was a good year.

Troy Westwood annoyed me his entire career.

My only good memory of Troy Westwood is when he hit a 55 yarder to beat the Riders in the early 2000’s.

Everything else is him missing kicks left and right (figuratively and literally), and of course the 2001 GC.

ESF 2007 vs Montreal. Hit the winner.

The biased reporting begins already, just said the stadium was buzzing when it's clearly empty.

Maybe the rum hut got moved a province over to help pay off our stadium debt? :)

70% was pretty average kicking performance for Westwood's era.  Paul Osbaldiston was career 72%, Mark McLoughlin 74%, Terry Baker 72%, Prefontaine 72%.  McCallum was a 70% kicker for the first decade of his career.

Something happened in 2006, suddenly the leading kickers were 80%+, and since 2011 we've had multiple 90%+ kickers every year.  This year, there were four, and Medlock just missed with 89.6%

It's amazing how much better kickers are now.  Maybe it's like goaltending, where the coaching suddenly got a lot better?

They started expecting them to do their job and stopped excusing their mistakes for being goofy.
