well hopefully him and Reilly...and Harris for that matter have a bunch of teams competing to try and land them and drive up their value...be nothing better than having 3 teams slitting their SMS throats by paying 600 to 700k for a QB...and thats just the starter where we are most likely paying maybe 625k or so for all 3 of ours.

that will be like a quarter of million bucks available to sign other areas of needs that they wont have compared to teams set at that spot right now...should be interesting

And spending the first few days of free agency trying to find a QB while the rest of us are filling out our roster. 

 

I can't wait for the Riders press conference announcing the re-signing of Collaros!

And then, and then... picking up the players that are cap casualties for cut rates when those teams need to make room for those giant contracts.

You can sleep well at night knowing fat Matt will be sucking up about 450 next year. 600 for Mitchell or Reilly would be a dream come true.

You are right we have nothing behind or up front, but you have nothing up front.  Which is worse?  How long does Nichols get to deliver a cup? How many excuses does he get?

LOL (!!!!!) at ANY teams fans shitting on Nichols, let alone Rider fans!! The Bombers have, unequivocally, the best QB situation in the league right now...

Bridge and Collaros were making over 600 last year. BLM and a rookie works just fine

Nichols may not be Bo-Levi but he is at least adequate and very good when he is on his game. Succession planning is critical and if the Rider faithful are expecting Mitchell to land in Regina, they are delusional. And $600k total for Collaros and Bridge???? No wonder Chris Jones wanted out of  Pile O Bones so badly with that kind of GM acumen.

Eventually that would affect us though. The new normal may be $725,000 for an elite qb. It would also drive up the salaries of every other position as well. This tells me that the cap will be going up.

I don't expect Mitchell to end up in Regina. he likely goes back to Calgary.  But "At least adequate" sounds like a scary endorsement by you on Nichols. Personally I want more than that for the Riders.
