I don't agree, Demski's versatility as a RB/receiver makes him difficult to replace, the only other player currently on the team that can fulfill that role is Flanders and we've seen the problems getting him on the roster.   A key element of LaPo's playbook is creating distractions away from Harris so defences can't key on him, that includes running and passing options and Demski adds both.

Charles Nelson could potentially fill that role.

Typically I would be in agreement with you but its really hard right now with the amazing depth this team has on the offensive line.  I don't think we really have a ratio breaker that can fill in for Loffler for 18 games without there being a noticeable downgrade or end up changing the ratio. If Chung signs somewhere else i feel like Geoff Gray could step right in there and offer more than Chung did his first year in the CFL.   If both Goosen and Chung come back it kind of creates a logjam with all the guys we currently have under contract.

Pretty easy solution... hide Neufeld on the IR...  at worst cut him

you know what's cute?

We have a real QB, and the riders have a pile of turd on their roster.

Oh yeah, we have coaches too!

Sorry, but i can't help but gloat every day of the current slate of misery in riderland.

just heard on TSN Radio that the Riders asked to speak to LaPo, were denied and he's not happy about it..... per Farhan Lahlji.   Will be curious to see where this story goes!

They did mention it was about the OC position though, so Bombers don't have to allow anything.  If it was actually for HC and they denied, this is exactly the can of worms I mentioned they could be opening last week!

What makes you think Corney would be back?  Last I heard he left the team, during the season, and there hadn't been much contact.  Any new info?

I think it's just a good fit. I don't have any new information just a feeling. He fills a spot we need depth in (cdn DL) he hasn't done very much to get a huge raise, like wise there isn't much on him to get a lot of other teams excited. And he knows the system. Who knows he could be gone already, but I just see how it could work for both sides.

I think there are going to be more options for starting quality CNDs. I see Simonise taking a big step forward this year. I personally just don't like Demski's style. Dances too much while having issues with ball protection. I don't think he is worth the money he will likely get. Saying that, I wouldn't be completely against him coming back.

If true and they were only looking at OC I would find that absolutely hilarious. Rider fans making much ado about nothing....

I listened to the interview and it was very clear about it being about the HC job.

That being said after listening to the interview it was 100% clear to me that Farhan has some kind of agenda and numerous times mentioned that it was his opinion. I felt much better after listening to Farhan whine and cry as if he was a Rider fan complaining about the Bombers (though never lumping Ottawa in the same boat).   Even Rick Ralph said the obvious "Why would you let your rival take your coach and leave you in the same hole?".

I don't know what was up Farhan's ass but he made it seem like this was catastrophic by the Bombers and that the CFL is going to suffer for not letting people go for promotions.

It was very clear that he was speaking for himself and made a much bigger deal of it.   He didn't even mention anything about his sources and speaking with LaPo,  he only said that O'Shea supported LaPo going for the job.

That's what I gathered as well. Kept saying his opinion, his opinion and never once said who this source is or how credible the source is. If it's just his opinion that Lapo is upset then big deal.

From Kelly Moore on twitter (copied/pasted to spare you guys on mobile):

-DE Jackson Jeffcoat told reporters during a media conference call that being wanted by @Wpg_BlueBombers was a factor in his signing a two year extension and foregoing CFL free agency.

-Jeffcoat says he "thought" he had something going with Cincinnati- only to receive a call personally from the Bengals because they did not have contact info for his agent- who has since been fired.

-By the time he hired a new representative, he was more or less going to be training camp fodder. So he got in touch with Mike O'Shea, and then Kyle Walters. Numbers started getting tossed around about a month ago,

-And then negotiations took on a more serious tone over the last couple of weeks, leading to this morning's announcement. Jeffcoat says the Bombers are close, but he's not interested in being close.

-And he sees Wpg as his best chance to win a championship for the first time since at least middle school.

Sounds like we are lucky he slipped through the cracks. Glad he's back in the fold.

He'd never win anything in Cincinnatti.

Anyone underestimating the importance of a good offensive line in this league should look at about the last 8 minutes or so of that 2018 playoff game in Saskatchewan... they just absolutely manhandled that 'superior' 'Rider's d-line.

Farhan Lalji seems like a guy who has gotten way way too high on himself. It happens to lots of guys at TSN sadly.

Do you guys remember Peter Watts from TSN back in the 80's? He passed away a few days ago here in Calgary. He had been working at 770 CHQR radio the past 20 years. He was in hospital being treated for blood poisoning & suffered an aneurysm. He was 68.

Been discussing the Lapo things over at RF......a lot of salt and vinegar over there about it.

Yep. I took a peak. All I can say is, I’m not as patient as you are. 😂

I'd guess the Bombers front office isn't the most savvy social media bunch and they probably chose to ignore Farhan's comment on purpose, but I don't think they should let this controversy fester.  Either they or LaPo should make a statement to set the record straight, especially if there is no discord among parties.  In the least they could prod Bob Irving into putting out a tweet to clarify the situation.  We need some facts to stuff down Riderfans throats!

We all know Osh.  If all is well at the Bomber offices then why would he even think of saying anything publicly  or trot LaPo out to say all is fine? He'll just keep it all in house & move on. That is how he works.
