He won't. Jets will have it done by july 1st. Guaranteed. Offer sheets = fear mongering. If a team who sucks wants to give up 4 1st rd picks to sign another guy who wont make them suck less... They dumb. Cuz good teams dont have cap space

And all the Jets would have to do is match it. Moreover, is that even realistic in this situation? Also, another team isn't going to necessarily "reap the benefits" if they offer sheet Laine and then have to give up draft picks to acquire him. The compensation to acquire him would be pretty steep: Quote Offer Sheet (AAV) Compensation $1,339,575 or below None Over $1,339,575 to $2,029,59 3rd Over $2,029,59 to $4,059,322 2nd Over $4,059,322 to $6,088,980 1st, 3rd Over $6,088,980 to $8,118,641 1st, 2nd, 3rd Over $8,118,641 to $10,148,302 (2) 1st, 2nd, 3rd Over $10,148,302 (4) 1st FWIW, I think a bridge deal would work well for both parties at this point. Laine has some ample room for improvement, IMO.

Why would you trade a 20 year old who has 105 goals in his career.. Of those 105 Buff has 31 Apples.. Ehlers 21. Little... 11. The problem with Laine is hes a number 1 goal scoring winger playing with a 2 almost 3 center. Put him with 55 for a week. Connor Scheif Laine Copp Little Wheeler Perreault Lowry Tanev Lemieux Roslo Appleton Ehlers back, he replaces Copp who replaced Roslo or Appleton. BigBlueFanatic and FrostyWinnipeg 2

I hope you're right and like I said I still think they back up the brink truck for him. But there have been cases in history that teams can't come to an agreement with a young elite player ergo some other team does.
