GCn20 Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 Doesn't take an accountant to figure out that with a payroll of roughly 7 million per team and attendance in the mid teens that this is not financially feasible. Especially when there is only 5 home games and no TV contract.
JuranBoldenRules Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 The quarterbacking in this league is just brutal. If they are going to skew the rules one way they need to skew them to offense. If I'm a receiver I'm signing with the CFL over this crap. CFL sends a lot of receivers to the NFL, this league the QB's are so brutal you aren't getting a chance to make plays. Tracker 1

SpeedFlex27 Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 The poor quality of play in vast empty stadiums. I can't see a lot of fans looking forward to watching. Be interesting to know the ratings after week 2.

WildPath Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 It's unfortunately that most of what I've heard about increases coming to our CBA will be basically given to the top players. I'd rather bump up the minimum salary a bit. I wonder how often we convince a star player not to try the NFL with a big contract compared to how many players we could attract to the league with a higher minimum contract. The CFLPA are run by Canadian offensive linemen who as a group are higher paid than most other positions as rookies. Only the lower draft picks play for minimum. They could care less about the entry level as most Canadian OL will be paid above that. They have basically taken over running the Association. That is why the money goes to the vets & not the rooks. And it's hurting the CFL. WildPath and TBURGESS 2
SpeedFlex27 Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 It is just brutal football. The level of compete isn't where it should be at the qb position. Watching Christian Hackenburg crapping the bed for Memphis sure was fun. He's the AAF's star qb as well.
blueandgoldguy Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 I wonder how Drew Willy would do in this league?

Eternal optimist Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 The cracks in this league from inadequate talent are starting to show like a late night infomercial for a totally useless product that's been on the air for just a liiiiitle too long...
SpeedFlex27 Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 Two cities had games with close to or above 30,000. San Diego & San Antonio. wbbfan 1
Booch Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 (edited) Yeah..but is that sustainable..and what if other cities are pulling in low teens..or worse And now they missed payroll after the second week, and had to have an NHL owner fork over a whack of cash to keep them afloat..I give that league maybe till end of first season Edited February 19, 2019 by Booch SpeedFlex27 1
Mr Dee Posted February 19, 2019 Author Report Posted February 19, 2019 (edited) 👁🗨 From that article.. “The AAF has only played two weeks, and before Dundon's investment, Week 3 was in jeopardy,” according to The Athletic's report. 👁🗨 Here’s a line for you: "This was a terrific opportunity for Tom to expand his investment in the sports world," Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said. "The AAF is off to an exciting start as a league and was founded on some truly unique and groundbreaking concepts. 3 weeks...really? Edited February 19, 2019 by Mr Dee Tracker 1
Brandon Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 Week 3 and they were already in jeopardy... yikes
Booch Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 JOKE....the league that is...probably why too the CFL lost basically nobody to that league other than players who really couldn't cut it here

The Unknown Poster Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 Probably all sort of tax implications to invest that money. They must have a lousy TV deal if they were on the verge of collapse after Week 3. I hope Vince is watching...
Blueandgold Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 250M is insane, I imagine it’ll keep the league afloat for a year or two but they’ll still be toast afterwards. Tracker 1
