bluto Posted April 6, 2019 Report Posted April 6, 2019 (edited) I am giving you 100 Hate Points On what Sports Teams in any League, Club or National Competition do you spend them? For me: 25 Montreal Canadiens - worst and most entitled fans in the country 25 Hamilton Tiger-Cats - the jackoff factor at their home games (especially Labour Day) is like nothing else I've seen... and tigers are not freaking yellow! trade colours with BC already! 15 "Manchester" United - think they've always been the best and don't realize how much their club contributed to football's modern era being about money and commercialism and haven't grasped how far they've fallen 5 Ottawa Senators - I'd hate them more if they weren't such a joke who should have won multiple cups but instead were the Leafs' playoff b!tch... now it's just an annoyance to see their bumper stickers and flags 5 Liverpool FC - haven't won in 29 years but act like they win every year and never spend big on players while hating on clubs that buy anybody 5 New York Yankees - I woke up this morning so I deserve a trophy, right? 5 Dallas Cowboys - I woke up this morning so I deserve a trophy, right? 5 Pittsburgh Steelers - I woke up this morning so I deserve a trophy, right? 5 Buffalo Sabres - Every time they play the Leafs it's game 7 of the finals 1 Saskatchewan - Do these people know how historically irrelevant their team has been? Canada's Team... 1 Alouettes - this number has gone down a lot since the times when Anthony was our road block to the GC 1 Russian Juniors - I'll never forgive them for the Brawl 1 Detroit Red Wings - lots of their fans in southwestern Ontario who reveled in their extended time on top of the league 1 LA Lakers - don't even like Basketball much but why does it always seem like this team and their fans are d!cks? I don't even watch the NFL anymore so the fact that I still harbor that sort of anger towards 2 of their clubs surprised me when I thought about it. Bonus: if you haven't hated enough yet then also spend HATE POINTS on sports players/broadcasters/coaches/officials/managers etc Edited April 6, 2019 by bluto
AtlanticRiderFan Posted April 6, 2019 Report Posted April 6, 2019 (edited) 25- New England Patriots 15- New York Yankees 15- Washington Capitals 15- Calgary Flames 15- Philadelphia Flyers 10- Toronto Maple Leafs 2- Tom Wilson (Capitals; dirty player that does not belong in the league) 1 each-Eskies, Stamps, Bombers (you guys are off the hook; I have too much hate in hockey ) EDIT: I almost gave all 100 of my points to New England. I hate them that much, haha. Edited April 6, 2019 by AtlanticRiderFan bluto 1
HardCoreBlue Posted April 6, 2019 Report Posted April 6, 2019 Interesting thread Bluto, quite cathartic. 🙂 For me, it's quite easy and nowhere near as well thought out and detailed as yours. 30 Toronto Maple Leafs - You could be watching a game where the Ducks are playing the Panthers and the Leafs will come up in the conversation. The coverage on them and the fawning over them is vomit high. If they went 0 and 82 my life would be complete. 30 Edmonton Oilers/Eskimos - Grew up solidifying myself as a hardcore Jets and Bomber fan through the Oilers/Eskimos dynasties. Now that I live just outside Edmonton and work in the city, my level of pleasure is extremely high with their levels of mediocrity. Its looks good on them. I'm not well liked around these parts showing off my colors evereywhere I go. 30 Roughriders - self explanatory being on a Bomber site. 10 Colorado Avalanche - recently given as I just watched their telecast and it was way over the top homer style. I hope we meet them in the playoffs and pound the crap out of them so I can listen to their groupie commentators commiserate among each other. bluto 1
Mark H. Posted April 6, 2019 Report Posted April 6, 2019 Mine is easy: 50. The NFL - totally done with that league 40. MLB - just completely stupid (all teams are equal, but some are more equal than others) 10. Any hockey that isn't playoff hockey (I have a faint interest in Jets' regular season) 0. NBA - have never cared about it at all bluto 1
Zontar Posted April 6, 2019 Report Posted April 6, 2019 (edited) . Leafs. When they are eliminated, usually first round, announcers then start talking about GTA born players on remaining teams and how they grew up watching Dougie, Wendell, something, something maybe somebody Leafs would be interested in free agency. Celtic. Glasgow not Boston. Could go on for hours but I would end up banned. Riders. A smattering of success turns some people into smug arseholes, I guess Cubs. Fans would be Rider fans if the neighbourhood around Mosaic became hipster-dooferized and jacked up prices but still tried to claim authenticity to old-time sports... brick wall, ivy, something, something. Noeller Posted April 6, 2019 Report Posted April 6, 2019 First: Great thread idea....Bluto, you're a rock star and I appreciate you......... Second: I have been thinking and wracking my brain over this for the last hour, and am just having a really tough time. I want to go 100 - Riders Fans. They're a scourge of the earth....I don't use the word "hate" very often, but i think I truly HATE Riders fans that are so completely ******* ignorant and don't know anything about CFL or even that much about their own team (almost all of them) But then I want to throw Stamps and Flames fans in there, too, because they're basically the same thing......just complete ******* morons and bandwagon jumpers. And I hate people like that SO ******* MUCH......... Of late, (mostly thanks to social media), the Leafs fans are getting really really bad.......BUT..............Jets fans, thanks to the NHL jerking them all off last year about being "Canada's Team" in the NHL, are kind of getting to that Riders fan level.....which sucks for me as a very passionate Jets fan. So, in conclusion.........I really don't know how to divvy up that pie..... bluto 1

I can (but seldom) respect a United supporter my own or age or older because they would have a living memory of when they were relegated in the 70s. It's the "isn't this the way it's always been?" type I especially " hate". Dishonorable Mention. No problem with Liverpool permanently honoring the Hillsboro thing but they also can't overlook their fans were amongst the biggest douchebags in english football even by 1970s douchebag football fan standards....but they brush it off. It was them that got England booted out of Europe after the Belgium thing in the 80s. Point values. Celtic at 100. Leafs at 90. Riders 75. Rest are 10-50 range. Edited April 6, 2019 by Zontar

I hate 'Pile fans. They are, on par with Rider fans. The lowest of low. 40 - Liverpool - act like something is owed to them, were ultra before it was cool, cheered the deaths of the Munich disaster, act like they've been relevant for the past 25 years, Heysel. 40 - Riders - act as though the league owes them something. 10 - Manchester Citeh - Manchester is red. 5 - Boston fans of the Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox, Pats - barf. 5 - every other team in the CFL non-Bombers, England non-Manchester United NHL non-Jets, NFL non-49ers, MLB non-Yankees.
17to85 Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Don't limit me, I have plenty of hate to go around for everyone. Rider fans and fLames get most of it though. Noeller and JCon 1 1
SpeedFlex27 Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Let's see.... 60... Riders. Can't stand them or their base. Any day is a good day when they lose. 30... Anaheim Ducks. Especially Perry & Getzlaff 5... New York Giants. No matter how crappy this gawd awful team is, they'll be in prime time on Sundays, Mondays or Thursdays. 5... Carolina Panthers & Cam Newton. Superman ain't so great when he loses. The post Super Bowl sulk looked so good on Newton. Can't stand the guy. bluto 1
TrueBlue4ever Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 First of all, I may have to award 20 hate points out of pure petty spite and jealousy to Bluto for coming up with this glorious topic before I did (says the old man shaking his fist at a cloud)! Damn you anyway. (Love you, man!) Second, this may cost me an entire week of productivity at work thinking about this. Third, I simply have to put out a multilayered list (because, well, does anyone who has seen my novel-esque posting history seriously need to ask why) covering teams, players, coaches, fan bases, sports parents, and broadcasters since they all contribute to my hate in different ways. This will take some serious trigonometry to get the points balance right. I'll get back to you later on this, but rest assured Boston will feature prominently across many areas. bluto 1

United are below City for the 6th consecutive year and showing absolutely no sign of changing that fact. ii) you can fill your stadium (which isn't even in Machester) with as many Londoners, Irish, Swedes or tourists from the far east on as many day trips as you like but it won't change the fact that no Manc is even discussing United these days. iii) Citeh is a pejorative of the Mancunian accent used by people who aren't Mancs. Way to demonstrate that Manchester is Blue. iv) Prior to Slur Alex's unprecedented run at the top and buying up talent and smashing transfer records every year, United and City were on equal footing historically. United fans aroung the world think that football began in 1992... in this sense you're like a Rider fan with no understanding of your own past. v) the Blue Moon has risen. Learn to love it because not only is it the best football being played anywhere, it also isn't going away. JCon 1
sweep the leg Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 50 Riders - seems obvious 20 - Flyers. I was a Pens fan until the Jets came back, so the hate was easy to build. Their fans are terrible for a different reason that Rider fans, but still terrible. Simmonds, Giroux, Hartnell etc. all make me angry just discussing them. 10 - Preds - PK Subban is the worst. They've also had Hartnell, and now Simmonds, so that makes them easier to hate. Oh, they're also the Jets' biggest rival. 5 - Capitals - Couldn't stand Ovie at the height of the Crosby-Ovechkin battles. Gained a lot of respect for him at the World Championships when most of the Russians left the ice for our anthem, but he and Malkin tried to make them stay. They still have Tom Wilson though, and they're still a Pens rival. 5 - Leafs. - TSN and Sportsnet force feeding us the Leafs all season makes it almost impossible not to hate them. 10 - split evenly among Ducks, Wild, Stamps, Lions, Bears, Packers, Patriots, & GS Warriors I don't care enough about baseball or soccer to hate any teams. I don't really care about basketball either, but GSW are so cocky that I've found it in me to hate them anyways. bluto 1
tacklewasher Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 50 - Riders 25 - Leafs 20 - Oilers for stopping the Jets for so many years (don't even care that they suck now) 5 - Hanging onto these to see if Jets go anywhere this year. Either going to Maurice or to whoever knocks us out if we get past the first round. HardCoreBlue and bluto 1 1

Two years ago I never would have thought I'd care about the Predators.
