Mr Dee Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 (edited) (2019 Main Training Camp Can’t remember a start to a main training camp where, even though we have openings at several spots (7?), we seem to have prepared to fill those spots with quality players and good prospects. Highlights coming into camp are the signings of Willie Jefferson and most certainly Chris Mathews. Not to mention the signing of all our draft choices, some of whom could be dynamic. We got bigger and better at receiver prospects. We’ve stacked the defensive line to make it easier for Bighill. We’ve added defensive backs and linebackers to fill any perceived shortcomings. Little by little, day by day, shortcomings will be noticed and those players will fall by the wayside. It’s training camp and the veterans will teach the newbies..in more than one way. Today, medicals and film room. Good luck to all. Let’s put out the best lineup we possibly can. OFFENSIVE LINEMEN Stanley Bryant*. Jermarcus Hardrick* Patrick Neufeld Michael Couture. Geoff Gray. 17to85 Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 If the game is won in the trenches then I love the way they have built this roster. BigBlueFanatic, Fred C Dobbs, rebusrankin and 5 others 8
B-F-F-C Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 Do all the rookies that attended rookie camp make it to the main camp? Or will there be cuts today?
Atomic Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 My darkhorse for the open receiver spot is Garrett Johnson. He has the characteristics of a speedy possession type receiver and has great credentials coming from the University of Kentucky. Hoping to get out and watch some football Sunday or Monday and I'll be watching the receivers and defensive backs closest... some interesting battles there. Lots of people penciling Humes and Rose in at the cornerback spots but I also wouldn't be surprised if we saw at least one raw rookie taking a spot there. Exciting times, football is back... Floyd Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 Interesting that no one really has Fenner pegged as a starter... he’s a value contract now rose-sayles-Jones-Fenner-alexander that would be fine with me
Jpan85 Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 Would not move Alexander or Sayles from HB Noeller, rebusrankin and Geebrr 1 2
Booch Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 (edited) I will say it now. Fenner will be starting SAM...and I like that just fine..he was knicked up for good part of last yr Dbs will be Alezander and Sayles at HB..likely Rose and Humes but could see Este grab boundary corner..or possibly Boynton. Both will stick in some capacity I think.. PR/IR Edited May 18, 2019 by Booch kelownabomberfan and shadybob 2

Atomic Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 I expect Fenner to be a starter. Not sure what position. Circumstances ended up preventing him from starting last year but I don't see how you can pay an American that much to just be a DI.

TBURGESS Posted May 18, 2019 Report Posted May 18, 2019 Gaiter/Fenner is great competition. Last year Gaiter came out on top. SPuDS, Noeller, Wanna-B-Fanboy and 1 other 4

Atomic Posted May 19, 2019 Report Posted May 19, 2019 Such an interesting situation last year going into the season with Fenner/Leggett at SAM, two legit starters up to that point, and then Gaitor ends up taking and holding onto the job. I posted my projection in a different thread but I could see Gaitor keeping the SAM job, Fenner taking over at field HB and Sayles taking one of the cornerback spots. Noeller 1
Booch Posted May 19, 2019 Report Posted May 19, 2019 Anyway you slice it tho..its nice depth and versatility to have..can even see schemes when a national rotates on the line one of them at safety too Atomic 1
rebusrankin Posted May 19, 2019 Report Posted May 19, 2019 Sayles played well last year as a rookie at HB, don't see Winnipeg moving him to CB. TBURGESS, SPuDS and Blue-urns 1 2
Booch Posted May 19, 2019 Report Posted May 19, 2019 Yeah u find a solid HB..especially a young one..u keep him there and let him get even better SPuDS, SpeedFlex27 and Geebrr 1 2

Noeller Posted May 19, 2019 Report Posted May 19, 2019 Really liked Sayles in limited time last year and am excited to see what he has in year 2. Geebrr and SPuDS 2
Floyd Posted May 19, 2019 Report Posted May 19, 2019 Sayles has boundary HB locked down - no question id honestly love to see Fenner at safety - he’s fast... really think about using all our Ratio on offence... then two DIs at WR and SB especially with Kongbo signed now
