Goalie Posted September 18, 2019 Report Posted September 18, 2019 The Fact Anaheim is on Faulks no trade list but Winnipeg isn't.. That's a sign of a good Minnesota boy. Is he ideal? No. Is he better than everyone on the team except Buff and Morrissey? Yup. Noeller and The Unknown Poster 2

Once he's off the books, we could replace him with another back-injury prone player. Is he ready to go this year? The world wide web isn't telling me much. JCon 1

blue_gold_84 Posted September 18, 2019 Report Posted September 18, 2019 If the Jets want another middle-of-the-pack LD, they can just re-sign Morrow.

Speaking of Minnesota, with our current D situation I'd take Matt Dumba off their hands. 🙂

Brandon Posted September 18, 2019 Report Posted September 18, 2019 Zero issues if we can get a solid d-man for Perreault. If you want to talk about a guy who is streaky and can go cold for long periods of time he's easily replaceable with one of our many young guys. blue_gold_84 1
bustamente Posted September 18, 2019 Report Posted September 18, 2019 The back end this year is going to be a tough thing to watch without Buff, but the guys that suit up will get a world of game experience probably wont win to much but we will find out what we have

Hutton had to get started, and the Kings were ready. blue_gold_84 and Noeller 1 1
blue_gold_84 Posted September 23, 2019 Report Posted September 23, 2019 (edited) Another it looks like another chip has fallen with Bolts' Brayden Point signing a 3-year bridge with a $6.75M AAV. Makes me wonder what effect this has, if any, on both Laine and Rantanen. Edited September 23, 2019 by blue_gold_84

Another 26yr old UFA 😡 Edited September 23, 2019 by FrostyWinnipeg

The owners have a cap to protect themselves. The RFA was set for older players to protect themselves against the younger ones. The younger ones have gamed the system. This is player-vs-player. The owners don't care. The only costs they're incurring are the upfront, bonuses, which I'm sure will be cut down during the next CBA negotiations. bustamente Posted September 23, 2019 Report Posted September 23, 2019 Wonder if the Jets two RFA's will be the last to sign, I thought at least one would have signed by now.

FrostyWinnipeg Posted September 24, 2019 Author Report Posted September 24, 2019 (edited) The Carolina Hurricanes have traded defenceman Justin Faulk to the St. Louis Blues. The Hurricanes have also sent a 2020 fifth-round pick to St. Louis. In exchange, St. Louis is sending defenceman Joel Edmundson, forward prospect Dominik Bokk and a 2021 seventh-round pick to Carolina. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/blues-acquire-justin-faulk-hurricanes-sign-seven-year-extension/ Edited September 24, 2019 by FrostyWinnipeg

I think some of the owners care a fair bit about massive signing bonuses for relatively unproven players... and about having to buy out older players to afford their own RFAs... not the original plan at all
