Blueandgold Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 That was a hell of a game, but the no call on the big return that led to Hamiltons game winning touchdown was disgusting. Mark H. 1

B.C. does have talent on O - they just started getting some actual OL play. Your lack of run stopping is a concern.

Mr Dee Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 How irritating. I was watching Hall of Fame interviews last night but they kept interrupting the interviews with a damn football game of all things.. trueBlue83, Bigblue204 and rebusrankin 3

Mr Dee Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 Hamilton is very lucky there wasn’t lightning in the area as they needed the 4th quarter to score 16 points to win that game. This only highlights what a colossal mistake it was to end a game in the 3rd quarter in a tight football game, in the anything-can-happen CFL. Stickem Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 Brutal miss by the refs..................almost as bad as the spot the argo's got against us last game of a first down that wasn't ......Totally inept officiating when calls like this are made or totally missed...In any event what a pasting Reilly took but continued with his heroics...Call it dumb pride but there's no way he should have finished that game with a healthy O'Brian waiting in the wings...How much did the leos' give Reilly to sign on??.....It will be going up in a puff of smoke if their coach doesn't smarten up......and quit sticking his tongue out...All Claybrooks needs to do is turn his cap sideways while doing the tongue thing...What an image of intelligence that presents////LOL NorthernSkunk 1
Zontar Posted August 11, 2019 Author Report Posted August 11, 2019 Meh. Refs missed a call on SSKs key return last week . But, yes, Bradbury is probably the worst..
Ripper Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 All year the returns have been getting a free ride. Coaches are going to have to start throwing challenge flags on punt returns. Scoring plays are reviewed so how are they missing this crap. Obviously the word came down that they want more scoring
blueingreenland Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 That was the worst missed call of the year. I'm expecting the league will come out on Monday and say,"Uh, sorry, we missed that call." And of course we will hear nothing about or if the refs were disciplined.

Obviously the word came down that they want more scoring The issue is that the scoring play is reviewable, but a coach can only challenge for illegal block penalties if they're called. Teams receiving the ball have an inherent advantage, since receiving coaches can challenge a phantom illegal block penalty (to have it removed), but the kicking team can't challenge for a missed illegal block penalty that should've been called.

What a nightmare KR blocking challenges would be... fishing expedition on every big return... I like the big play returns this year - glad the refs have lightened up even if its a blown call here and there - way better than it was

If that return happened against you guys last night you would be losing it. This cannot continue, it is making the league look really bad. This league has struggled to shake the bush league appearance ever since I have watched it. A team lost a grey cup a couple years ago on a illegal block call. Now we just aren't going to call it at all?? Just let it be a freeforall out there. That head shot on Adams last week against Ottawa is another one, this crap needs to end Eternal optimist 1

rebusrankin Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 Ripper made a great point about the holding on returns and on the headshot. I love the big returns and as Dickenson apparently said, I think we're seeing more this year because the NFL is kind of phasing out the kick game so we're getting more of those type of guys and that's great but you have to make the calls. You can almost always find a holding or illegal block on most kick return plays... personally, I think it'd be best if they did it for a specific player, similar to how pass interference is called. I just find it interesting that even the rule book itself is stacked against coverage teams like that, puts them at a big disadvantage when there is a missed call.
