Excellent game by Streveler but is that mad display really repeatable or sustainable?  He's only 24 so he can probably get at least a few more years out of abusing his body as if there are no consequences for all dem hits, but someday he will pay the price for playing with reckless abandon as Reilly, Collaros and Durant have before him.   Eventually he will have to abandon the mad dashes and play more in the style of an old vet. QB relying more on his brain than on his legs., unless of course the Bombers have discovered the  "remarkable unbreakable man".

I doubt it's sustainable yet. But that and more would be sustainable easily if he reaches close to his peak potential. 

Injuries could be a problem, but that's a coin toss. Some guys play recklessly and last many other play passive and don't. 

All the new starters this year league wide have had some great games and as many stinkers. But it plants the seeds for a great future of league qbing.

Reilly 'paid the price' by getting $700k at age 34...  guy is almost never injured

Nichols gets injured trying to evade contact and failing. 

Streveler might get injured embracing contact. 

What's the difference?

Gumby didn't soo much play like steveler but he did run alot. And took frightening shots every game yet still lasted.

Naturally as Streveler gets more comfortable passing he will take off running less and less.  Thus saving his body for the playoff games each season.   Hopefully for the blue n gold

Have to keep Streveler beyond this season , if that means letting checkdown Nichols go I think you have to do it.

He's progressing each game..a lot of times this game he set his platform.. threw a solid strike...as he gets more reps..sees more things.. he will set more.

He gets antsy at times..and too eager and short arms it and doesnt let the play fully develop...with time and reps..like all QBs say it will slow down and he will hang in there and make the strikes.. 

But that running..man what a beast..and once he gets more established he wont have to run as much..but when he dies..lookout!

The thing with him tho..a warrior leader and his play pumps up everyone else around him and they elevate their play..he is showing now he is a keeper

To be fair, even if you give him credit for engineering the drives that end with a rushing TD ... he still hasn’t put up 250 yards offense on his own and 4 scores all year.

One or two all of last year too. 

Streveler has a lot to improve and learn. He may never be an elite starter in this league. But he did carry the offense in the banjo bowl

At the very least streveler is a very young guy who can factor in games as a back up and win you games in a pinch If the starter is out. If he never become more then that he's still well worth keeping. Wouldn't wanna pay him starter money but I'd love to keep him.

the guy is built like a full back and runs into contact like one.... except he's probably getting 1/2 as much contact as a typical full back.   He can have a long career playing this way... look at Harris and the amount of contract he takes... more than Strev for sure but he keeps on going.

I won't fully dump on Nichols because he has thrown better deep balls and has been more accurate on the sink and dunks.

However Streveler is much more clutch and far less rattled then Nichols gets. Mentally stronger that's for sure.

And Streveler seems to have command presence as well- AKA charisma.

Matt has also had a career's worth of time to develop touch on those deep balls and still struggles with them at times. Chris, imo, struggles with them because of his natural arm strength and adrenaline. Once he settles in and settles down I think we'll see him develop that touch.

Totally agree on the his mental strength.
