That 2 Qb idea i just do not see that playing out, i get it wanting to save money but with all the Qbs going down this year its really a dumb time to roll the dice...next year some unlucky team loses 2 qb in a game what then? Not to mention the league needs to groom more young Qbs not less...

It's a stupid decision which doesn't surprise me with Ambrosie running things.  He's already ****** over most teams coaching & scouting bringing in a hard cap. The latest news I heard this week was Randy running his mouth again talking about renaming the pre season, "The Innovation Season" wanting to fool around with the clock during games & other marketing genius stuff during the Innovation Season. Playing his fiddle & telling everyone who'll listen how great everything is while the Halifax expansion flounder like a codfish out of water, the ownership situation in Montreal & BC languishes & the Argos franchise looks more like a rotten corpse everyday. And attendance plummets.

This just insults our intelligence. Preseason is a very necessary evil in football and other pro sports, but changing it's name doesn't do a darn thing, the content fielded will still be below par compared to regular season (as it should guys need to get a start somewhere and preseason is great for that).

This is like changing the language in traffic law from red lights to "mandatory resting periods".

But other than that, he's doing a good job, right?

Some interesting Stats:

64.2  – Rushing yards per game for Bomber opponents - impressive stat for the Bomber defence.

2.3  –  Average margin of victory between Calgary and Winnipeg - really close games between these 2 teams.

115.0  –  Bo Levi Mitchell’s QB rating last five starts vs. Winnipeg - here’s the stat that favours the Stamps..

That the Bombers ended up in 3rd spot in scoring. Montreal eked us by one point to finish 2nd. Hamilton was first
And we finished 3rd in the number of plays run..oddly enough at 1290...
...6th in yardage
...7th in points allowed
...6th in yards allowed
...7th in TDs allowed
...2nd in interceptions
...4th in sacks

Winnipeg's 64.2 rushing yds per game allowed was #1 ... & in CFL history is #2 all-time after the 54.5 yards allowed by CGY in 1995.

also...

Winnipeg will set a CFL record by playing in their 117th playoff game (62-52-2 and 22-33 on the road).

This playoff contest represents the 1st time that Winnipeg and Calgary have met in a Semi-Final since 1982.

Winnipeg brings a fourth straight 10+ win season – the first time they have done that since 1987.

Regardless of what happens the rest the November we have to remember this and keep this trending. No regressing back to the dark ages...

That is out of our hands and in those of the Bomber coaches. One win in the playoffs is not enough anymore.

Did You Know..

Calgary converted just 33 per cent of their second-down opportunities (6-of-18)
When the Blue Bombers travel to Regina for next week’s West Final, it will be the first time the clubs meet in the West Final since 1972

Rider fans really wanted to see Zach Collaros in the Western Final this year..

..only not with an opposing team.

The Bombers limited Calgary to just 207 yards of net offence, including just 116 yards through the air.
👁‍🗨 Hell, I remember some games where the opposition had that at the half.

Chris Streveler took 23 snaps and did not even attempt to throw a pass in Sunday's #CFL West semifinal. He ran 13 times for 82 yards. When was the last time anyone saw a stat-line like that for a quarterback? Zach Collaros took 36 snaps and threw for 193 yards.

Really? Wow, I would have sworn he attempted a couple.

Now, will this throw the Riders off? Assume he'll run and he'll step back and throw one downfield?

Chris did make one pass for 22 yards though.

Lots of misdirection with him at QB... on a few plays the defense really bit on him handing off to Harris and it opened it up big time for him to run.

I'm unfamiliar with how good or bad the Riders run defense is... but it will need to be sharp against us.

They didnt and cant handle our run..or oline ..we had 186 on ground in game with augustine in for Harris...195 on ground in banjo bowl..and 116 in final game where we only ran it 21 times..that of the piss poor game plan we employed that game

So we ran for 497 yards in 3 games..and see more of the same in WF..especially now they have to respect the pass I wouldn't be surprised to see close to 200 on ground..if not eclipsing 200

Top down patience breeds the continuity Walters covets?

“Most of our Canadians are in-house. That’s a big part of what I believe in. I just jotted down how this week’s roster is made up. We’re pretty evenly distributed between scouting, free agency and draft picks, then throw in a couple of trades.

“We’ve changed from early on, when we weren’t a very good football team, and there was a massive overhaul of the roster. Now we’ve focused on trying to keep the core together year in and year out.”

BOTH road teams won the 2019 Division Semi-Finals and this is indeed rare. Since 1971, that event has occurred only 5 times in 48 years coming in: 2019  2017  2008  2000  1989

Saskatchewan and Winnipeg have met 14 times before in the playoffs (in either single game or multi-game series) and the count is an even split at 7 wins each to date. Their most recent meetings were in the 2018 and 2003 West Semi-Finals.

The Bombers won the last game, WSF, without a single Red Zone trip - they ran no play closer than the Calgary 24-yard line.

Chris Streveler took 23 snaps (20 in the 2nd half) without throwing a single pass; the most in Playoff history.

The Winnipeg defensive effort repeated their result in the 2018 Semi-Final win over the Riders who had just 205 net yards.

Bo Levi Mitchell was intercepted 3 times and held to his career playoff lows in yards (116) and % (43%).

Pass Knockdowns: Saskatchewan had 44 compared to #1 Winnipeg with 77 (the 3rd-highest total in CFL history)

Winnipeg's Red Zone rankings were the best combination in the CFL - #2 on Offence at 67%, #2 on Defence at 54%

Winnipeg drew the fewest Penalties in the CFL at 7.1 per game, 57 fewer penalties than Saskatchewan.

Zach Collaros becomes the first QB in CFL history to start a Div. Final having been on each team's roster in that season.

In his 23 snaps, Chris Streveler ran on 13 of them for 82 yards and a TD. The 13 runs were a Winnipeg Playoff record for a QB. (Streveler also set a playoff high for rushing yards by a Winnipeg QB eclipsing the 79 by Lee Saltz in 1989.

Streveler set a Winnipeg record for Rushing yards by a QB at 726. His #6 CFL rank was the best-ever by a Bombers' QB.

This year is the first time since 1989 that Winnipeg has won a road playoff game two years in a row.

Winston Rose led the CFL with 9 interceptions, the most by a Bomber since Less Browne had 10 in 1991.

Big play kick return comparison - Winnipeg #2 with 13, Saskatchewan #7 with 6.
