17to85 Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 glad to see him back in Winnipeg, he may have had some questionable traits but damned he was a good player. One of those guys worth the price of admission all by himself. This current team has no one nearly as talented as he was. No matter how much a defense tried to gameplan to stop Charlie Roberts he could still make things happen.
M.O.A.B. Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 can he play this week, for a treat ?
Floyd Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 can he play this week, for a treat ? Right Guard?
BBlink Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 can he play this week, for a treat ? Right Guard? Roberts didn't need a good o-line to play well.
Bomber_fanaddict Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 He looks in shape still. I'm sure he could get us 150 yards on Friday!
17to85 Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 can he play this week, for a treat ? Right Guard? Roberts didn't need a good o-line to play well. Just needed some big fat guys like Matt Sheridan to hide behind. Defenses just had no idea where he was!
rebusrankin Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Sign him up. I say he'd get 100 yards rushing behind our line.
Jacquie Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Looks good. I hope Friday is a sell-out.
Blueandgold Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Its such a shame that Charlie, Milt, Brown, Khari, and Robert Gordon never got rings here.
rebusrankin Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 Its such a shame that Charlie, Milt, Brown, Khari, and Robert Gordon never got rings here. 2001 should have been the year, with 2002 as the repeat.

I think 2002 was the better year to do it, they were humilitated in 01, I think they woulda put things right in 2002 but Stegall getting hurt right before the playoffs and Roberts hurt first play of the west final just took too much offense away. Then you gotta deal with the phenom Ricky Ray as well, just too much to over come in that game.
tacklewasher Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 Its such a shame that Charlie, Milt, Brown, Khari, and Robert Gordon never got rings here. Add Doug Brown to the list.

Add Doug Brown to the list. were you thinking of a different Brown? lol. that was funny. shame he left here in such a sad way... glad hes going to be retired as a bomber (i assume) and go into the hall.. i was honestly a bit worried he wouldnt come back, seemed like he was angry with the organization..
SmokinBlue Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 He was probably more embarrassed with the way he let his career end.
saskbluefan Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 They should have won in 2002. Stupid injuries. They should have won in 2001 too, obviously. There are many reasons they didn't but Rick Warman giving Charlie 6 touches in the Grey Cup was one of them.
James Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 I miss the days of Milt Stegal and Charles Roberts. You always felt like you had a chance to win no matter how bad the team was.
17to85 Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 Cause no matter what else was going on with the team Stegall and Roberts were unquestionably among the best at their positions and you could just give them the ball and let them make something happen. There's no one on the team right now at that level.
