TrueBlue4ever Posted Friday at 08:34 PM Report Posted Friday at 08:34 PM Was hoping to hear Jets traded Heinola, Barlow, and a 1st (and maybe more) to Pittsburgh for Sidney Crosby. Too late? And Elias Petterson is still out there as a centre, but I would not touch that contract without some severe salary retention by the Canucks. rebusrankin and Brandon 1 1
Goalie Posted Friday at 08:39 PM Report Posted Friday at 08:39 PM Wiebe says Jets done. Kept the 1st equivalent to a 3rd.
HardCoreBlue Posted Friday at 08:45 PM Report Posted Friday at 08:45 PM It would be fascinating to watch the Bruins (very tight for that wildcard spot) make the playoffs this year after heavily unloading their existing talent especially with some going to their rivals. rebusrankin 1

Burmistrov. Man did Chevy get handed a total turd of a team with zero prospects when he took over. Goalie, rebusrankin and Piggy 1 3

Goalie Posted Friday at 10:31 PM Report Posted Friday at 10:31 PM (edited) Jets didn’t get better but they didn’t get worse. Currently they the best team in league and we keep our shitty late 1st. They need to finish 1st over Dallas tho otherwise it’s prob us vs Colorado and that’s not fun. Dallas vs Colorado would be best case scenario rd 1. Think Colorado catches the Wild but not us. 14 points back is lots. Edited Friday at 10:34 PM by Goalie
HardCoreBlue Posted Friday at 11:09 PM Report Posted Friday at 11:09 PM Article heading by Rapheal Simard: Dylan Cozens trade: “the Sabres are the NHL’s farm team” Ouch.
Goalie Posted yesterday at 02:44 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:44 AM Teams going crazy but 2 best teams currently make 3 total moves and all for depth. Jets bringing in Luke and Tanev and Washington with Beauvillier.
Goalie Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Ottawa got better tho. Cozens definitely an improvement on Norris who can’t stay healthy and Zetterlund has 16 goals and 19 assists with SJ. 2 solid moves for them. Boston Buffalo trading in division is wild.
Tony Fresco Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago (edited) Winnipeg not be a destination of choice certainly doesn't help. Per Murat at the Athletic, looks like we got scooped: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6185913/2025/03/08/winnipeg-jets-trade-deadline-failure/ Quote NEWARK, N.J. — The Winnipeg Jets tried to trade for Brock Nelson. There were times when they thought they were going to acquire him. At one point, Jets head coach Scott Arniel had lines drawn up as if Nelson were part of the team. It didn’t happen. There is an element of mystery as to the reasoning. The simplest explanation is that Winnipeg made New York a competitive offer but Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello preferred Colorado’s package. It is also possible that Nelson declined to waive his no-trade clause — either before Colorado’s involvement or afterward. Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff did not clarify the details at Prudential Center on Friday, saying only that decisions were made that were not within Winnipeg’s control. “I’m not going to get into anything specific as far as what the different situations were,” Cheveldayoff said. “We put a real strong foot forward, and that’s where we’re at.” Edited 11 hours ago by Tony Fresco

Hope he disappears in the playoffs like he did at the four nations. Embrace Tanev’s eagerness to play here. Obviously Winnipeg is not a draw for some players but so far we are doing pretty good without them. Tony Fresco 1
HardCoreBlue Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago TSN panel goes around picking teams who were winners and losers of this years trade deadlines: Mike Johnson's turn - Toronto Winners Winnipeg Losers. ffs
Goalie Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Losers are all the guys who decided to not waive their no trade clauses. Jets such losers they come out dominate nj and win 6 1. Such losers.
Tony Fresco Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Winning trade deadline day is like winning the offseason. Look where that's got the Predators. Most Cup Winners over the last decade did not get the big fish on deadline day. You'll see a lot more character/glue guys than superstars. 2023-24 Florida Panthers acquired Tarasenko (F) from OTT for a 3rd & conditional 4th. traded for Okposo (F) from BUF for a 5th & Sjalin (5th rd pick). got Hellberg (G) from STL for 7th & Waeber (undrafted). 2022-23 Vegas Golden Knights picked up Barbashev (F) from STL for Dean (1st rd pick). got nothing for sending Weber & a 5th rounder to ARZ. traded for Blueger (F) from PIT for 3rd & Dilibertatore (6th rd pick). acquired Quick (G) from CLM for Hutchinson & a 7th rounder 2021-22 Colorado Avalanche snagged Lehkonen (F) from MTL for Barron (1st rd pick) & a 2nd rounder. added Manson (D) from ANA for Helleson (2nd rd pick) & a 2nd rounder. got Cogliano (F) from SJ for a 5th rounder. picked up Sturm (F) from MIN for Jost. 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning acquired Savard (D) from DET for a 4th rounder. 2019-20 Tampa Bay Lightning traded for Coleman (F) from NJ for Foote (1st rd pick) & a 1st rounder. added Goodrow (F) & a 3rd rounder from SJ for Greco (undrafted) & a 1st rounder 2018-19 St. Louis Blues got Del Zotto from ANA for a 6th rounder.. 2017-18 Washington Capitals picked up Kempny (D) from CHI for a 3rd rounder. acquired Jerabek from MTL for a 5th rounder. 2016-17 Pittsburgh Penguins added Hainsey (D) from CAR for Kristo (2nd rd pick) & 2nd rounder. got Streit (D) from TB for a 4th rounder. traded for Corrado (D) from TOR for Fehr, Oleksy, & a 4th rounder. 2015-16 Pittsburgh Penguins snagged Schultz (D) from EDM for a 3rd rounder. added Melindy, O’Donoghue, & Jeffrey from ARZ for Marcantuoni (4th rd pick). picked up Plachta from ARZ for Plotnikov (undrafted). 2014-15 Chicago Blackhawks acquired Vermette (F) from ARZ for Dahlbeck (3rd rd pick) & a 1st rounder. got Timonen (D) from PHI for 2nd & 4th rounders. traded for Desjardins (F) from SJ for B. Smith (6th rd pick) & a conditional 7th rounder. Chemistry can take time to build. Colorado had turned over 5 of it's 12 forwards in the past week. Postseason will be interesting. Goalie Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Yeah I was gonna mention most of that there but was gonna add. Whoever tsn says are winners is usually the kiss of death for that team. So im ok with being a loser on deadline day and the free agent frenzy. Most these experts expected the jets to suck. Let’s keep that in mind. Tony Fresco 1

Let’s keep that in mind. Saw another clip of Johnson talking about the jets picking up Schenn and how that was good and the jets don’t have too many gaps but in another segment picks the Jets as the ultimate losers with this years trade deadline. The Jets so need to go deeper into the playoffs this year or they’re going to continue to hold the label as post season pretenders. Edited 4 hours ago by HardCoreBlue Goalie and Tony Fresco 2
Goalie Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Their picks are weird. essentially most of them picked teams who traded for “big names”. But Rantanen for example had like 8 points with Carolina. Can he produce away from MacKinnon cuz jury out there still and for as nice as Nelson would have been, I don’t think he’s the difference between winning and losing. if I’m Arniel my top 4 Centers for playoffs in order Scheifele Lowry Names Gus/Kupari. Put Ehlers with Lowry and Nino to add some scoring although Perfetti names Ehlers dominating 5 on 5. think we good forwards wise but Stanley prob starting in playoffs isn’t good. Don’t like our d depth if a Josh or pionk go down. Also when I look at who got firsts, only Rantanen was prob worth it and again I say prob cuz 2 1sts plus Stankhoven is a pretty big haul for a guy who hasn’t done much away from MacKinnon Edited 4 hours ago by Goalie
