Start 3 need to probably dress 4 minimum.  Would be really nice to have that many Canadians on O could almost go all import on D, probably still start 1 on D just in case a few in game injuries happen.

No way we start 3 Canadian receivers.. makes no sense when we dint have to..plus there would be wasted roster spots to cover those positions..and most likely severe drop offs in talent too

Not really wasted roster spots.  Basically just moving a special team spot over to receiver, so for instance if they sign someone like Adjei you dress him instead of John Rush.  Adjei also plays special teams.

If they are viewing Wolitarsky as a slot, you have him, Lawler and Demski.  You have a spot open at the boundary, which IMO will be really their only big money free agent target.  Then you have the field WR which could easily be played competently by a combo of Petermann/Adjei.  Both those guys can block too so can play inside and support run game.  A lot of versatility in that group, size, speed.  Depending on where other Canadians are dressed we could have a free sub American backup receiver who can slot in on any snap, or could use a DI there and have that free sub on D assuming using 8+ Canadians regularly on O and D continues.

Do they have the $$$ for both? They have a decision to make.

I would think they would have money for both. MBT will end up the backup somewhere so I would imagine that if Toronto wouldn't have money for him as their back then who would?  I would imagine the team who have discount starting qb's would be the most likely to sign MBT.

Sure makes one appreciate Walter's work and us signing and extending guys we want. And not cutting ties with good players so to make ends meet

Argos are a mess, you might see more coaches, players and media members than fans at their home games this year

And quality quarterbacks in this league aren't like it was even a few years ago when you could pull off a trade & get a backup ready to make his mark.

Don't worry ...Pinball and Dinwiddie will have a plan.....the pinball will be a wideout and will be returning punts....Dinwiddie will be back behind centre.....everything's good in the big smoke.......(choke choke)

And the pre-FA negotiation window opened today at noon and closes on Feb 9 at noon, as mentioned in the other thread.

But teams get 48 hours after the window closes for other teams,  to match any offer.

So it is 9 days.

The Argos could offer Nichols 300 and he would have to take it. His hands are tied.

Argos are just as tied up as him. Nichols doesnt HAVE to play. Argos do. Neither really has an advantage, but if anything has an edge in negotiations I'd give it to Nichols.
