In the first quarter BLM had all sorts of time to throw.  Some key drops and great play from our DBs prevented him from really running up the points.   Rewatch the first half,   it's ugly.

I tend to base my assessments on an entire game.  You don’t see it that way and I will leave it there.

Whatta game yesterday.

1. Hall and LaPo for completely changing things in the 2nd half, and stunning Calgary.

2. Zack Streveler.A tandem qb system that crushed Calgary. Thought 17 should've been on the bench at the end, didn't need any extra pounding on that ankle.

3. Medlock. A 52 yarder in the cold?? Wow!!

HH The defensive secondary who as a group had their best game of the year.

Posted
  1. Adams - Only 2 catches but the first one got us out of trouble and the second one broke the Stamps back.
  2. Streveler - Doubt he can walk today, but that was one gutsy performance
  3. DB's - Tight coverage for maybe the first time this year. Fought for every ball and came away with some of them.

HH - Mother Nature, the great equalizer that forced the Stamps to run the ball, which they don't do well and added to their dropsie problems.

We live to fight another day. Go Bombers!

Actually, you're wrong again. The Stamps averaged over 15 carries a game and had 15 yesterday. So, they did exactly what they always do. The Bombers stepped up and beat them.

Dropsie problems were forced because of our great defensive play yesterday.

Yeah he had the dagger but he also dropped a few he should caught.

You see what you want to see.

BLM was off for the 2nd week in a row, no matter what the talking heads or Bomber fans say. Our defence didn't force bad throws any more than BC's did last week. Our defence didn't force the drops either. Without the drops the Stamps stay on the field and the rushing numbers go up.

Number of carries isn't the number you need to look at anyway. Stamps don't have anyone in the top 10 rushing. We've got both Harris and Streveler. Calgary is a pass first offence. Jackson had 246 yards rushing all year. That's 2 or 3 games for Harris/Streveler.

Calgary had some success running the ball yesterday, the Riders will try to duplicate that and will probably improve upon it with Powell and Thigpen, in the case Fajardo can't move the ball in the air Bombers have to be ready for the running game.  Bighill was almost invisible again yesterday, Nevis, Jake and the Stove will have to have big games.  Riders O-line is nowhere near as good as the Stamps so the D-line should be able to get pressure on whoever their QB is.  Looking for Willie to have a huge game.

This is flat out wrong. BLM was constantly changing his release point, either throwing over-the-top rainbows to get the ball over Jefferson's outstretched arms, and/or throwing around/into coverage because he couldn't see the field properly due to the passing lanes being plugged up with Bomber defenders. Seems you're the only one that can't/won't see that.

One of the things that contribute to dropped balls are receivers that know they're about to get pummeled. Gone were the easy passes into the soft spots in the zone that were there to be exploited in the other games. This time the Calgary receivers had to compete for every catch.

Fajardo relies on quick timing routes a lot, Bomber D-backs will have to hit them at the line to disrupt their routes and cut off the throwing lanes.

This year, after the injury, BLM often throws wobbly rainbows. Jefferson forced a couple of bad throws, but mostly it was BLM making bad decisions and bad throws. QB's aren't going to win throwing into triple coverage and BLM is no exception.

The Stamps recievers dropped a few easily catchable balls, not cuz they heard footsteps or were worried about being hit. It's because the Stamps drop more catchable balls than most teams and because the cold made it harder to catch the ball in the first place.

The DB's played well. Tightest coverage I've seen this year. That doesn't mean that the Stamps receivers didn't drop catchable balls.

Both teams dropped some catchable balls, but BLM was feeling frustrated by the defence. That intentional grounding was the moment the bombers d broke his spirit.

That intentional grounding didn't break BLM's spirit. It was just 1 play where he tried to throw the ball away and didn't get it past the LOS.

I saw that play and the 2 points awarded thereafter as the moment where doubt began to creep into the Stamps' psyches.

He didn’t/couldn’t understand what the H was going on. He panicked. And the Bombers created that panic. BLM just doesn’t do that.

His pocket broke down and he bought some time and no one was open for him so he made a poor choice to ground the ball. It encapsulated his frustration with how the day was going and it was all downhill for the stamps from there. It was the play where the stamps stopped believing they could win.

His pocket broke down so he had 2 choices. Eat the ball and give up 2 points or throw the ball. He made the right choice, but didn't get the ball past the LOS. Pissed him off? Sure. Broke his spirit? LOL

Hence why he made it out as the West nominee for MODP and not Hughes..the one trick pony who fades out...Jefferson is the more complete player and does things that be benefits the defense in multiple ways
