SpeedFlex27 Posted March 8, 2022 Report Posted March 8, 2022 (edited) We have the same problem in Calgary. Loud demonstrations every weekend off the downtown in the Beltline (as it's called). An area where there are mostly apartments & condos & it;s being taken over by anti vax & mandate protestors honking their horns. It's to the point that police inaction is causing residents to come out & counter protest saying they want their neighbourhood back. So, we have residents on one side blocking protestors from demonstrating in their neighbourhood & protestors wanting to break through these counter protestors. One anti vaxxer attacked a resident & was arrested. The cops do nothing. They don't do their jobs. They stand around & watch afraid to lift a finger. There's going to be violence. People will get hurt & the Police Chief of Calgary will navel gaze & say his force was there to maintain the peace or whatever other excuse he'll use. I refuse to believe that politicians don't have their meddling fingers into all of this telling the cops to back off even though they vow they can't tell them what to do. I mean to me, it's obvious. This comes down right from Jason Kenney's office. I'm sure in Winnipeg, the same thing also comes down from Stephanson. Both Premiers telling the police in their provinces to leave these dumbass anti vax protestors alone because that's their base. Since March 12, 311 has received 1,476 requests for service related to Winnipeg's approximately 930 kilometres of back lanes, a city spokesperson wrote in an email to CBC News on Monday. The city says it's working on plowing the back lanes in an effort to improve drainage and driving conditions. The back lanes in my area are a disaster.

The co-owner of Focus Equities Kenneth Mariash says building CentrePort Canada Rail Park could be a step in that direction. The rail park is going ahead at North America’s largest trimodal inland port, the Province of Manitoba announced Friday. The project that’s estimated to generate $3 billion in economic activity for the province will complete the inland port’s vision of enhancing accessibility via three modes of transportation: air cargo, rail and truck — CentrePort’s president and CEO Diane Gray said. The rail park is expected to create about 5,000 jobs over the course of the build-out, which could take between 10 to 20 years... Noeller 1
