Wideleft Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 Live updates: Nearly 100,000 U.S. children test positive for coronavirus in two-week span August 10, 2020 at 10:14 a.m. CDT More than 97,000 U.S. children tested positive for the coronavirus in the last two weeks of July, according to data from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association. That number represents more than a quarter of the number of children diagnosed nationwide since March. The jump in cases comes as children are entering close quarters for the first time in months as some schools reopen their doors to students. Many districts are operating remotely to start the school year, with some others using a hybrid plan that has students come in a few days a week to prevent crowding. After one Georgia high school reopened with in-person instruction, viral photos showed hallways packed with maskless students. Now North Paulding High School is temporarily reverting to virtual instruction while the school is cleaned, after six students and three teachers tested positive. One student who took photos was briefly suspended and says she is facing threats from classmates. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/08/10/coronavirus-covid-live-updates-us/?hpid=hp_hp-banner-main_coronavirrus-luf%3Aprime-time%2Fpromo Mr Dee and blue_gold_84 2

The data shows there were: 11 new cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region; and five new cases in the Southern Health - Santé Sud health region. While many of today's cases appear to be linked to known clusters in Brandon and the Southern Health - Santé Sud health region or are close contacts of a previously-announced case, preliminary information suggests that there may be a small number of cases of unknown acquisition in these areas. Case investigations are ongoing to determine possible COVID-19 exposures. When the investigations are completed, additional information will be provided as needed to inform people of any public health risks. The data also shows: six current hospitalizations, with three individuals in intensive care; 182 active cases and 352 individuals have recovered from COVID-19; and the number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at eight. Noeller Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 Supposed to be coming home for holidays on Labour Day and for two weeks after. Going to get a test done right before we leave, so we can have a clean conscience for our travels. Going to spend most of the time locked down at our cottage at Victoria Beach. Usually stop for gas in Brandon, but I'll tell you right now, we'll be locking the doors and flying through there as fast as we can. What a friggin' petri dish.... Mark H. 1
Mr Dee Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 Stopping for gas? Whenever I do, I stick my hand in those cheap no name sandwich bags to handle the pumps, seeing as many people use them without safeguards... Noeller and rebusrankin 2

Yeah, since things got heated in March, the wife and I have been keeping disposable gloves, masks and hand sanitizer in both of our vehicles. Gas stations are particularly troublesome!
