They should have Mobile units with the vaccines that only require refrigeration.

Get the shots TO the schools and have a quick morning/afternoon vaccine session.

Teachers NEED to be vaccinated before the transmission in classrooms becomes a huge problem because of the variant.

An influential Canadian doctor and top adviser to the World Health Organization has come under fire from international experts for his controversial comments downplaying the risk of airborne spread of the coronavirus.

Dr. John Conly, an infectious diseases physician and professor of medicine at the University of Calgary, not only denied that aerosol transmission is a primary route of transmission, despite mounting evidence to the contrary, but also said that N95 masks can cause "harms" — including acne.

"Any time you look at benefits, you need to look at harms, of which there are many harms with N95s — and I think to ignore them you are at your peril," Conly told a panel discussion at the University of Calgary on April 9 on the role of airborne transmission in the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There is acne, also issues with eczema, conjunctivitis, CO2 retention; there has been decreased O2 concentrations in pregnant women — many side-effects to this."

His comments on oxygen and carbon dioxide have been largely discredited, with a 2014 study in the American Journal of Infection Control showing no significant differences in levels between pregnant and non-pregnant women wearing N95 masks.

I may like his music, but man is he a fuckwit.

Nugent flew with South Dakota governor Christi Noem in a private jet while he was ill.  We can only hope that he shared more than political views with her.

“It came as a complete surprise,” Liberal leader Shirley Bond said, according to the Vancouver Sun. “The premier has had months to deal with the issue and consider potential travel restrictions. First, it was on the table, then it was off the table, there was a legal opinion, can’t do it, we’re not like other jurisdictions. Then today an announcement with zero details. People don’t know whether they can drive to work on Friday morning.”

Horgan said the measure will allow travel by those who can prove essential travel reasons, including work, but that all claims will be thoroughly validated and checkpoints will be set up throughout the province. He said they will also contact the ferry operators to various British Columbia islands and ask them to contact anyone with a booking to ensure their travel is essential. He said he would also work with the travel industry to make sure no bookings for tourism purposes are taken until the ban is lifted.

“They will be random and there will be a fine if you were traveling outside of your area without legitimate reasons,” Horgan said, adding that he is aware of concerns over how this may disproportionately target Black and Indigenous communities.

It would figure that this guy is an Albertan. Things continue to rage on out west here, and there are no signs of slowing down. It seems the province is willing to sacrifice as many people as necessary in the name of herd immunity.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons will doubtless call him in for a chat, They do not take this sort of thing lightly.  Doctors can be idiots as well. You may recall that three medical doctors administered cyanide Kool-aid to even their families in Jonestown and there is a doctor in Arizona who believes the demons are inseminating women.

TPR has climbed to 6.6% in Winnipeg. In two weeks, we're going to be asking Brian why he didn't shut things down earlier as we're well over 10% TPR and he's going to relay to us some moronic sports analogy and tell us it's our fault.

They need better measures to curb this now. Let's reduce in-store shopping, reduce restaurant capacity now, shut those churches right down.
