he Arizona Cardinals are closing in on a veteran backup quarterback for Kyler Murray in 2021. After going with Chris Streveler last season, journeyman Colt McCoy will likely take over that role.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McCoy is expected to have a meeting with the Cardinals next week and that meeting is likely to end up in a deal that will make him their backup quarterback in 2021.

As much as we all like Chris Streveler he's not good enough to be an NFL backup qb. Streveler is the kind of guy that can go in with a limited number of plays & run them effectively. Hint: RUN then more effectively; literally & figuratively. Even be a game changer as we saw here. But when having to use the entire playbook, we see the problems he has reading defenses & throwing the ball. I don't even think he's a backup here in Winnipeg either. I'd consider Sean McGuire more ready than he is to handle the entire Blue Bomber playbook if called upon behind Collaros.

Arizona didn't have plays suited to him when he got thrown to the wolves this year. Who's that other gimmick QB that they wanted him to be like...? Drawing a blank... But whatever that guys plays are, Strev needs that..

You're thinking of Taysom Hill. The Saints also used him as a running back & receiver. Not just as a qb.

Yes that's the one. That's exactly how Strev should have been treated, instead they tried to make him a pocket passer with the regular playbook and that'll never work...

While the NFL is changing it's offenses using more gun & RPO they still like qbs who can stand in there & pick defenses apart.

It pretty apparent why Deshaun Watson wanted out of Houston and now 1 of the numerous accusers has revealed herself

No doubts,  The Houston managment is probably pisssssssssed because they had offers of 3 first round draft picks for him earlier.

Yeah it's easy to look back and say he will never be ready. But show me a NFL rookie QB who can go up against the leagues best Defence and be successful...not to mention the numerous calls that went against him and then add on the lack of play calls that suite his style. I'm not saying Streveler is some miracle man at QB, but to write him off is immature at this point.

The one thing they could have done to actually make their team better and they still ****** it up! lol. serves them right. The leadership of that franchise is a joke.

Suspect Found In South Carolina Killings Of 5 Was Former NFL Pro Phillip Adams: Source

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The gunman who killed five people including a prominent doctor in South Carolina was former NFL pro Phillip Adams, who killed himself early Thursday, according to a source who was briefed on the investigation.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly, said Adams’ parents live near the doctor’s home in Rock Hill, and that he had been treated by the doctor. The source said Phillips killed himself after midnight with a .45 caliber weapon.

The York County Sheriff’s Office said they had searched for hours before finding the suspect in a nearby home.

The York County coroner’s office said Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, and his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, were pronounced dead at the scene along with grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5.

A man who had been working at the home, James Lewis, 38, from Gaston, was found shot to death outside, and a sixth person was hospitalized with “serious gunshot wounds,” York County Sheriff’s Office’s spokesperson Trent Faris said.

‘Old Grumpy Man’ Tom Brady Whines About New NFL Numbers Rule

Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady is upset that NFL owners approved a rule change that will expand the uniform numbers available to players.

The change means, for example, that quarterbacks, kickers and punters will no longer be the only players eligible to wear a single-digit jersey number. Owners adopted the new rule because the expanded practice squads necessitated by COVID-19 issues last season created number conflicts, NFL.com noted.

Not a big deal, right? They’re just numbers.

But Brady, the winner of seven Super Bowls, thought otherwise. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback suggested in an Instagram story that players won’t know who to block, and facetiously asked why have numbers at all. He wrote that the rule would “make for a lot of bad football” and was “dumb.”

There is one number that Brady should be concerned about. That is 13. As in the PSI needed to properly inflate a Wilson NFL ball.

Agreed but shame on the Cards for the terrible play calling/game plan for him when he played against the Rams.

The Rams back up that game played like he could have.

I have plenty of clouds to yell at today & all of the "snowflakes" coming down. ;)

See the source image

Apparently July is the only month that snow has never been recorded in Calgary. Enjoy.

Maybe no accumulation but I've seen flakes come down in July. So it melted as it hit the ground. I've also seen golf courses open in February here so go figure.

Record-tying number of Canadians selected (4) so far.  There are few guys who could still sneak in as a late pick to set a new record but it's a great showing either way.
