Yeah, TBH, now that he's not a Jet, I couldn't care less if I never heard about Patrick Laine ever again.

Feel that way about former Bombers playing elsewhere in BOTH leagues. Hey, thanks for the memories & even the GC win but you left & ain't Bombers anymore.

But as it turns out...there was a reason why they didn't.

I'm surprised Torts did not go...well...full Torts on this.

Hey we’ve been on that end. Sucks. But they still lost. My main point is MM needs to let go and move on. Dubois hasn’t even played a game in a Jets uniform until tonight. Give it 20 25 games then launch into a full comparable analysis of all the tangibles NOT Look Laine scored again Roslo scored again horrible trade arghhh.

But Don Jonas got traded and you still love him, no?

After he went to Hamilton (because our asshat GM Lunsford at the time was jealous of his popularity so he was banished) he retired so his best years were with us... There's always a caveat. ;)

Reading Friedman's 31 Thoughts, it sounds like Laine was dogging it on a play that led to a goal, and when the assistant coach went to talk to him about it, they had an incident.....and that led to the benching.

Laine is a bit of an odd duck, believes that he should be paid royally because of a one time clapper and someone in the league will pay him for that and disregard that his game has many holes that in 4 plus years have not been addressed.

Report: Blue Jackets' Patrik Laine benched because he ‘verbally disrespected’ a coach (msn.com)

It's pretty clear that he was coddled in Winnipeg, Wheeler said as much.  Now that he is being treated like a man and expected to play like a man and act like a man, instead of a coddled little boy, he's showing his true colors.  Why are guys with so much talent almost always the guys who waste it thanks to a crappy attitude?  So frustrating to watch.

Hex was a no-brainer for that gig. He's awesome and should never have been let go in Phi. Major bonus for Pens fans is that Flyers fans will be CHAPPED that a legendary Flyer will now be with their most hated enemy.

Agreed. Too bad Tocchet isn't still coaching there.

I see the Toronto sports media is very close to awarding the Leafs the 2021 Covid Cup. Barf.

Why wouldn't they? I have come to learn from they are the best team and have the best player in Auston "Pants Up" Matthews.
