Or they'd rather lie on a beach counting their money or play golf on their days off.

No taxes in Florida and Dallas and other places.

And how many of those teams have made a big move? None of them.  If you think no trade clauses and taxes don’t play a role you haven’t been paying attention.

We don't need to make a big move. No one is trading a superstar anywhere. But that doesn't mean we don't need to make a move.

His time with Arniel as a team mate did briefly overlap but they rarely played on a line together.  Christian was mostly with Dave Babych and a rotating 3rd player (mainly Luchowich, MacLean or DeBlois) while Arniel was with Smail/Boschman/Watters.  Christian did get the only assist on Arniel's first ever NHL goal so they did have some brief spots together.

Christian played with Dave Babych?  On defense?  That's not what I remember.  I thought he played with Lukowich and DeBlois for sure.  Hawerchuk and Maclean were inseparable, and I think Larry Hopkins was the third at that time, as the Jets stuck Hawerchuk with two pluggers lol, and yet Hawerchuk was that good that it didn't matter.  I can't even imagine what he would have done with a Kurri or a Messier level guy on his line.

Yeah Hopkins with H&M. Career year then they plugged Mullen in to the mix.

Yeah bit of a brain fart on my end, not sure why I was remembering Babych as a forward.  I was looking at Christian's last season with the Jets (82-83) & almost half of his points involved Babych somehow (meaning both guys a point on the play).  He was putting up points with MacLean early that season but that didn't seem to last - DeBlois was the only guy he really kept scoring with all season.  Hopkins was mostly in the minors that year (only 12 games with the Jets).

Maybe you were thinking of Wayne, Dave Babych's brother who played forward. 🙂

Yeah, they (Babych brothers) married twins and bought Skinners Wet n Wild water park.  The twins were featured prominently in their ads.
