https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/jets-arniel-provides-injury-updates-on-pionk-vilardi/

The big story here - McIntyre also reported that Arniel gave a less-than-encouraging update on forward Gabriel Vilardi, who has missed Winnipeg's last two games. "It's not one of those ones where it's an automatic four-to-six. He's a ways away," Arniel said. "He's a way from even trying to get into the weight room right now. He's more on just getting better."

If the Jets don't win the Cup this year (which we all want them to win), what do they need to do this post season to label this 2024/2025 season campaign a success with lots of confidence heading into the 2025/2026 campaign?

Lose first round in seven games?

Win first round but lose in the second round?

Make it to the Conference finals but lose?

Make it to the Stanley Cup finals but lose?

Only winning the Cup can they label this 2024/2025 season campaign a success?

I go back and forth from losing in the Conference finals to losing in the Stanley Cup finals to deem this campaign pretty successful with optimism for next year.

Win a round and I’m happy. Show some legit progress. The cup would be nice but that’s probably in reality fantasy land talk. A cup win would be the biggest moment in Winnipeg sports history. It would be huge. Would change the nhl a bit. I’m cheering for that but not expecting it. Win a round. And when you do lose go out fighting not giving up. If it’s 6 0 with 2 minutes left I wanna see guys busting their balls to the end. This team has given up in the past. I don’t want to see that. Win a round tho. Then win another round. Then another. Then beat Maurice in the finals.

exactly this, we have a coach that got the Moose to the Calder finals 16 years ago I'm confident that Arniel could get us far, look at what was accomplished this year even.

I just personally don't think a Canadian team will ever win the cup again. It doesn't benefit the league in any way, so I feel like things will be stacked against Canadian teams always. It would be a complete and total fluke against impossible odds.

This year might be the best chance we ever have to end the curse.

The Oilers have had years to make the changes required...

I don't follow why you're singling them out...?

I just feel that they have had the most talented roster...of late.

They have arguably the two best players in the world, but aside from that......?  No goaltending, approximately 2 D and virtually no depth. They definitely got on a heater last year, but yet again, no dice. It's going to take some kind of other world miracle for a Canadian team to ever win a Cup again...

They were two goals short of winning it all last year.

Oilers last year. Montreal was in the final a couple years back. Vancouver destroyed their city when they lost a few years ago also. Canada has had chances. Nobody has won in Canada since the Jets left originally. 1993 ish or so. Perhaps the curse ends by Winnipeg winning. It makes sense. Do I expect it? No.

Ehlers took a few slap shots to the leg against Vegas so good news it’s not long term. Demelo pionk Schenn is better than Demelo Schenn miller so that’s good.

pS. Schenn is signed for next year also. IMO it means Salomonmson gets 1 more year in the A then takes schenns 3rd pairing spot meaning we gonna sign pionk to a new deal. Demelo pionk schenn miller next year. Year after Schenn and miller are UFA and retired. Salo comes up.

It wasn't people from Vancouver, it was idiots from Surrey that destroyed the city.

Tonight’s a big one. That’s unfortunate most won’t get to watch. Hockey ain’t drawing on prime it seems. Not as much as it does on TSN even apparently.
