iHeart Posted April 28, 2022 Report Posted April 28, 2022 I don't think Stacy is a bad anthem singer usually at work when O Canada is being done we usually hear her recording of O Canada
Goalie Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) I'm just throwing out names. Maybe Reynolds who does do play by play would jump at the opportunity but again just throwing out some names. Could be Jenn Botteril for that matter. Yes works for sportsnet but likely more convenient for her to be in Winnipeg more often. Jenn makes more sense as Asst coach tho. Maybe the JetsTV guy Mitchell Clinton or Jamie Thomas Edited April 29, 2022 by Goalie
JCon Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 Sounds like PLD wants to stay. Who are his comparables for a long-term contract? blue_gold_84 1

At that time Wheeler's contract is up , and there will be more money available to pay him. He likely supplants Schiefele as 1C too.

I bet they try for a 6 year deal, buying 4 years of UFA for cheap.
Rich Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 For those that can read The Athletic: https://theathletic.com/3277644/2022/04/28/dubois-future-jets-offseason-scenarios/ Talks about different scenarios... Arbitration, Offer Sheets, Long term, or trade. For long term, one of their statistical models would have him at $7.2M AAV, which would be 8.76% of the cap (same cap percentage Connor signed for a couple of years back). Of course, he may demand a premium for being a centre. JCon and blue_gold_84 2
JCon Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 Realistic range is $8.25M to $10.25M. That should be doable for this team.
bustamente Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 PLD and his agent will probably ask for 8 years 9m, does he get that from the Jets probably not so let the bargaining begin. FrostyWinnipeg 1

Rich Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 Arbitration means we will have to start thinking about a trade this summer or next. If he goes for arbitration for the next two years, that brings him into UFA.

The team is going to look very different next year, one would hope.

And at that point, he has to be thinking why not just play out one more year and see what can happen in the open market. JCon 1

I just wonder how the Jets will approach it knowing that a lot will change in the next few months.
bustamente Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 Arbitration just pisses both sides off and can get messy, from the Jets point of view they need to get PLD signed as early as possible this off season.

bustamente Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 As for Scheifele he isn't going anywhere unless he wants out which might be possible you don't trade a point per game player who many thought had a down year and doesn't play D and expect an even return, not this year anyways
iHeart Posted May 1, 2022 Report Posted May 1, 2022 I think another question is...will Chevy be here next season? yes there was a close call earlier this year when the blackhawks scandal broke but I keep hearing "There should be changes, there will be changes"
rebusrankin Posted May 1, 2022 Report Posted May 1, 2022 Tell Scheifele the vision involves back checking and an actual focus on both ends of the ice. BigBlueFanatic, bb1, Mark F and 1 other 4
