Barr Orders Investigation of Election

It was a memo so outrageous, it caused a top Justice Department official to quit on the spot. But for Donald Trump’s dwindling band of loyalists at the White House, it still wasn’t enough.

On Monday, Attorney General Bill Barr “authorized” Justice officials to investigate allegations of voter irregularities. But his memo doing so practically admitted there was little-to-no evidence for any such election fraud.

“A nationwide call smacks of desperation,” a prosecutor told The Daily Beast. “They’re looking far and wide because they don’t have anything specific. If you had good evidence of fraud in Pennsylvania, or Georgia, you would focus there. DOJ hasn’t lent itself so far to any of the pending [Trump campaign] claims yet, indicating that nothing they’ve seen so far has a shred of merit they’re willing to tie themselves to.”

But the prosecutor said the memo could do real damage by its authorization of “overt investigative steps.” That means “encouraging prosecutors to do things that the public will notice,” throwing “red meat to the stop-the-steal base over the coming weeks even if doing nothing to change the outcome.”

At a minimum, Barr’s memo “lends further legitimacy to Trump’s attack on the results of the election,” the prosecutor continued, “That’s all bad for getting Americans to trust their democracy and respect the results of the election.”

I think Trump  knows he lost.

he was in the wrestling game, hes treating the Presidency like a wrestling event.

he will never admit defeat, he got cheated, he will fight on, he will be vindicated, or make a valiant comeback im 2024.

he will be escorted from the whitehouse, not in shame, but triumphantly, pausing to make an inspirational speech to his cult. great photo op to run ads from to fleece the suckers.

then bilk them for all  he can, on his take back the country tour and telethon.

I think thats what its going to be. even throwing him in the slam wont stop it.

He has no platform, no ideas. this is the greatest scam in history.

At this point, the main purpose of all the false promises that the courts will invalidate the election appears to be money — the fine print on the solicitations for Trump's "legal defense fund" makes clear that the money will mostly be used to pay down Trump's campaign debts. Since Election Day, more than 130 such emails begging for cash have gone out to gullible marks — sorry, I mean Republican voters. Considering what a practiced con artist Trump is, he's probably already working out how to leverage his fake victim status to squeeze his hapless supporters for more cash down the road.

Then why are you wasting time and resources of this court. Here’s your fine,  get out.

I would suggest that as of yesterday, and 12 straight dismissals in court, that fines should be imposed to a degree where 2nd thoughts prevail.

Joe Biden's win grows more decisive each day as votes are counted
President-elect Biden is likely to end up over 5 million votes ahead of Trump in the popular vote when all the counting is done. He'll get about or above 80 million votes -- by far the most of any presidential candidate in history.

And let's be clear, the chance of a recount overturning the results in 2020 is basically nothing. Fairvote has looked at statewide recounts since 2000. The average shift in votes has been a mere 430 votes and 0.02 points. The largest shift in votes was a little less than 2,600 and 0.11 points.

The bottom line is Biden won this election and it's not particularly close.

Trump Lawyer:   Your Honor, this witness is a friend, who heard somebody talking about a friend, who saw a one-armed man, driving a "Biden/Harris" van, dropping off dead bodies, with rigged ballots in their pockets.....
Judge:             Well, this is somewhat better, that what you came up with last week.    However, the case is dismissed.

The point is that the Trump strategy is to try to portray the election results as biased and illegal, even if there is no proof. By raising groundless concerns again and again, the intent is that it will look bad enough that the Republican legislators in Arizona, Pensylvania and Wisconsin will have an excuse to declare the results invalid and appoint their own who would cast their votes for Trump. Ugly but potentially effective.

👁‍🗨 Don’t know if I understand it all but:

The only and exclusive way that presidential electors can be chosen in Pennsylvania is by the popular vote. The legislature has no hand in this process whatsoever.

The secretary of state presents the election results to the governor, who certifies the election, establishing the list of electors. Any challenges to that are handled by the state’s courts as required by the Pennsylvania Constitution.

The General Assembly has a sworn duty to follow the Constitution and the Election Code, which does not involve the legislature in the process of choosing electors.

Just imagine if Republican run states don't ratify the Biden election win, giving their state to Trump against the will of the electorate, I know people will say that will never happen and yet Trump became President and has been bullet proof throughout his Presidency
