You'd think an educated person would have a free mind... To be able to sort things out for what they are. Unbelievable.

You should watch the social dilemma on Netflix- it underscores the driving force of radicalization through Facebook and social media in general.

AND they hide behind (said in the stupidest voice) ‘It’s my freedom of speech you can’t censor me’.  People of this mentality often confuse their perceived freedom to spew lies and absurdity with their freedom of speech. Their upbringing failed them.

These individuals confuse "freedom" with "license".

And the ever popular "it's my opinion, I am entitled to it!"

Whenever he discusses a topic with someone who disagrees he drowns them with news stories & stats supporting his case knowing full well not many people are going to sift thru pages & pages of disinformation.

I have a long time friend like this. I was best man at his wedding. All of a sudden shadow organizations are steering the 4th industrial revolution towards a great reset that will land us in a communist dystopia by 2030 where we must confirm or die. Oh and the natives and Chinese are in cahoots to overthrow Canada. And if I would just stop listening to the mainstream media and have an open mind I wouldn't be so brainwashed.

This was a rational person I thought of as a brother. I deflect with humor or try to change the subject to hockey now but I don't know how long I can listen to this ****.

Time to move on as you're trying to conform to him but he would refuse to do that with you.

I would take it a step further. When their opinion is absolutely absurd based on tin foil logic usually with a side of racism they truly believe it to be fact in their hoped reality. Then when one tries to present to them the real facts based on the best available evidence to date they yell fake and then feel proud they triggered, they owned the socialists, the libtards, the snowflakes, the lefties etc etc etc.

Enjoyed this documentary and underscores the importance of pro-actively looking for the full story on news events and not trusting single sources and random tweets in this day and age, which very few people will do.   The internet was "supposed" to bring everyone together and connected, but AI/ML optimized for "hits" and views for advertising puts people in bubbles and further apart.  And with people seeing custom and tailored messaging / news, they become all the more incredulous that "the other side" could think the things they do, assuming everyone is getting the same news / information.

Have to admit....seems that there is one political party, in the US that in general, doesn't shy away from racists, right wing militias, or crazed conspiracy theorists.  Grand Old Party, indeed.....

I'm afraid that the disease of racism/fascism is endemic in American society and deeply, deeply rooted. It has surfaced in the GOP only because it was invited but is also prevalent in the Democratic party as well. Just not as well tolerated, but there nevertheless.

Bit of a difference..... between it simply existing (Democrats) and.......... seeing it, to some extent driving party policy - like what we are watching right now.

Electoral College set to seal Trump's fate -- yet again

Electors from 50 states and the District of Columbia will gather across the country to cast their ballots, which will confirm Joe Biden as the rightful 46th president and California Sen. Kamala Harris as vice president.

Despite the certainty of the constitutional choreography that will confirm Trump's loss, several rebukes from the Supreme Court and multiple court losses, he refuses to accept reality and put the country first by accepting defeat.

"It's not over ... we're going to continue to go forward," Trump told Fox News in an interview recorded Saturday, before tweeting on Sunday that the nation's top bench had "chickened out" by ruling Friday that Texas had no standing to file a case on his behalf.

Veteran Republican election lawyer Ben Ginsberg told CNN's Ana Cabrera on Sunday that the blunt Supreme Court dismissals of Trump's cases were "the briefest and most summary of dismissals possible. That is a signal in lawyer talk about 'don't waste our time with these theories that you are spouting out.' "

Armed MAGA fanatics spread politics of violence around the country with shooting in Olympia, Washington

The pattern has become clear: Wherever pro-Donald Trump "Stop the Steal" rallies are organized, the thugs who come out in large numbers to participate wreak violence on anyone who comes out to protest them. This weekend, even as Proud Boys and other Trump supporters were bringing violence to the streets of Washington, D.C., a similar but much smaller group of MAGA fanatics was doing the same thing across the country in the Washington state capital.

And for the second week in a row in Olympia, a Trump supporter fired a gun at counterprotesters for a "Stop the Steal" event—this time, hitting and injuring a man who was wounded and hospitalized at the culmination of a running series of brawls. Police arrested the man, along with three other people at the event.

This man should never be re-admitted.

This is a good start, but much needs to be done in US politics, the GOP is broken- they are officially the party that has abdicated its responsibility to protect the Constitution in order to pursue their own grasp on power...

I think a good place to start is the list of signatories on the TX suit... you know they guys who refused to be interviewed after...
