Who the **** ever has cash on them?? I think I've been to an ATM once in about 6 months.... Never have or need cash.

I always have cash on me, I rarely use cash but I've always had money on me just in case.  Who doesn't carry cash?

I always try and have some cash in my wallet. Just never know when you might need it.

But unless you are hitting garage sales, you really do not need cash. I have the same three bills in my wallet that I have three weeks ago. The next step in the technology is thsat you will have not only your credit/debit card info there but also your driver's licence, medical cards retail loyalty cards etc, etc.

I know a guy who's wife put him on a diet. He'd sneak out for Burger King on the regular but eventually she started checking his transactions (probably because he just kept getting fatter on a diet). Pretty soon it was a cash only operation and all was well until she found a receipt in his pocket while doing laundry... now its a cash only NO RECEIPT operation, with the phone battery removed incase she tracks his location lol

When on earth do you need cash??? I can't even wrap my head around that everything has tap.... Hell, most places have Google or Apple Pay, now! I was at a food truck last week that had people paying with their phones. That's the only way to go.

I stayed in a motel 6 in portland, very cheap. there was a guy selling drugs in the parking lot; I was in the  office, and it turned out it was his office too, and the desk clerk worked for him, as well as the motel.

anyway, he handed over a big pile of cash to her. much more than the sixty bucks the room cost.

as I said..... it was cheap, and interesting. homeless guy running a recycling cans business had his depot outside my window. probably cash as well.

so cash can be good.

just ask conservative icon brian mulroney. 😂

I've used cash at work numerous times to buy random charity things (chocolate bars/girl guide cookies)

I use cash to give money to friends to pay them back for lunch or doing my part in contribution to a larger order.

Canteens/sporting events at the local community club when my kid was in soccer.

Places when the Interac is down which has happened.

I leave cash tip at restaurants that way the waitress gets the money directly and it isn't divided or partially taken by the owner.

All my facebook / kijiji transactions.

Smaller purchases at stores.

All chinese restaurants to get a larger discount so that they can avoid the tax man.

All "on the side" work for home repairs.

Coin Op car washes.

I could list more but those were just off the top of my head.   I use the card 95% of the time but I've always had cash just in case.

Most recently, the machine was being a pain in the ass and not working so I paid cash so I could get out of the line asap.

Etransfer..... Debit and credit card tap....Google and Apple Pay...... Seriously people, it's not 1998.

You E-Transfer 4 dollars for a box of girl guide cookies?

What about people who can't use E Transfers? Or don't have smartphones because they can't afford it. People who have declared bankruptcy? They can't get a credit card. If we go to a cashless society, they have no way to purchase anything.

I've had a little summer business selling firewood for a few years now. Sorry folks -  cash only.

Where are you located? I bought Walmart garbage and it burns about as well as a full diaper.

Used “tap” once. The outcome was poor.

Swiping the card with hookers would probably not turn out well.

An interesting set of dynamics in that relationship.

Why is it when someone writes “I know a guy who…..” I am convinced the only two possibilities are:

(a) if it’s a story meant to make the storyteller look better by association (ex. I know a guy on the Bombers so I have inside Intel that makes me look smarter), then the “guy I know” doesn’t really exist, or I at least do NOT know the guy, or

(b) if the story is kind of pathetic (ex. I know a guy who got busted by his boss for watching animal porn at work) then the  “guy I know” is actually the storyteller themself?
