Liegghio can make the kicks and he has. Made a game-winner. Have to work with him this season, if they wanted more options they needed to set that up before camp. Depends. If they are vaccinated and signed today they could miss 1 game. max 2. Bye week.

Ali Mortada is on our suspended list .... tiny guy originally from Sierra Leone. Yeah he would be eligible to play earliest for the game in BC on October 1.

Only option to come on the roster this week is Crapigna if he's healthy to kick field goals. Anyone else? I hear what you’re saying but even you have to agree this is not acceptable at this level. He’s lucky we aren’t 1 and 5 and doing this because you know they would airlift someone in immediately. We are winning so we can tolerate. Just now, HardCoreBlue said: Anyone else? Liegghio was over 90% combined in CIS on FG's and converts, so the ability is there. He's a raw rookie though, pretty rare for a kicker to just jump in without sitting on PR for awhile behind a vet. It's not rare in the CFL. Before specialists, regular players did the punting & kicking. Don Jonas was our FG kicker. Gene Lakusiak kicked for us ||& was a defensive back. Ed Ulmer was a safety & our punter. Imagine the pressure playing a regular position & being winded, dinged up or out of breath & asked to kick or punt? Seems to me, they would be under even more pressure. Bernie Ruoff's very first kick in 1975 (he was a specialist) against the Stamps was a 58 yard FG. He never let pressure get to him. The league has had many kickers who as rookies stepped in & played like veteran kickers. Sean Whyte in Edmonton. Lewis Ward in Ottawa. Rene Paredes in Calgary. Lui Passaglia in BC. Mike Vanderjagt in Toronto. Damon Duvall in Montreal. Even as rookies, they were able to control their emotions & stay even keeled when they kicked. That's the key. To remain calm. Dont be nervous & stay focused. The mental part of the game is maybe more important than the physical part. Hopefully. Liegghio will get a handle on things... fast.

johnzo Posted September 12, 2021 Report Posted September 12, 2021 per Tait's game recap Quote O’Shea said Ali Mourtada, a kicker recently brought in by the club, is out of quarantine and will be available to practice this week. so he could play next week against Edmonton. wbbfan 1
bearpants Posted September 12, 2021 Report Posted September 12, 2021 Just want to point something out on the first half melee… I didn’t catch it all during the game… saw the Harris helmet rip after the fact… should he have been kicked out? Maybe…. But it seems a lot of people are forgetting in 2019 against Montreal when Vernon Adams ripped Bighill’s helmet off, tried to smash his head in with it… and still stayed in the game… Ripping a helmet off is definitely not an automatic dq… Mark H., JCon, blue_gold_84 and 9 others 4 2 6

johnzo Posted September 12, 2021 Report Posted September 12, 2021 yeah, I think that's a gap in the rulebook. it calls out a few specific things like punching that will result in an auto-DQ, but everything else is ref's discretion.
Bubba Zanetti Posted September 12, 2021 Report Posted September 12, 2021 1 minute ago, HardCoreBlue said: Should be. Probably should be but by the rule it seems that something like that is at the referees discretion. Not automatic.
Nolby Posted September 12, 2021 Report Posted September 12, 2021 We were in 135,front row. Harris ripping off the helmet was the second best thing behind captain blue and that gas huffing 454 big block in that plane blue_gold_84 1

Sean Whyte was on BC's PR for years and played for Montreal before Edmonton as well. Vanderjagt was with Sask and even played Arena ball before he made the CFL for good, and then the NFL. Paredes was here for two camps two years before he made the Stamps. The only guy on that list who played regularly as a rookie pro is Ward. Blue-urns 1
