Odds and Sods - Riders vs Bombers - Western Conference Final

First Final game here...in about 4 decades..
Harris is on the field and starting!
Zac finds Adams and Lawler for first downs....
Harris runs for 10...to the Sask 30...
Zac double clutches.....sacked...but Riders roughing penalty.
Zac goes back.....throws it deep in the end zone....Demski wide open..
....who has the ball bounce out of his hands, and right to Gainey - INT!
Bomber D holds....Lauther's punt tipped by Briggs.....goes short....
....and caught on the run by Grant for 15 no yards....
Demski good run and pile pushed by OL for 10 yds...
Zac finds Woltman at the 1...ball is punched loose....
...some Rider picks it up and rolls down the sideline...
...all the way inside Bomber 15.  Good grief!
Fajardo completes sideline pass to the 1.  Powell for the TD
Two TO's....21 point swing.   Ouch. Instead Riders 7-0
Harris run for 10...Zac finds Bailey, then Demski....
ZC hits Bailey....who cuts across, breaks 2 tackles for TD!!
Bombers moving ball nicely - just stop coughing it up.....
Blue with ball again....ZC goes long, but ball is badly under thrown..
....and picked off by Marshall.   These turnovers are bad!
Morrow takes swing pass and just gets around end for 20
CF throws one up to sideline.....Wilson tagged with PI at Blue 11
Lauther short FG has Riders up 10-7
Harris runs for FD.  ZC to Lawler for another.  Harris for 9
Zac is pressured...tries to get rid of it... and throws it directly to a Rider LB.
Turnover #4 this half.  This is getting ridiculous....
Riders stopped again.  ZC dump to Harris for 9.....
Harris busts up the middle for another 15.  Blue with another good drive..
ZC finds Bailey over the middle for good gain...but Bailey has ball punched out..
....for Bomber turnover #5.  This is getting absurd.....
Bomber D gets another stop.   End of Half.
Blue doing everything right - except protect the damn ball.
Word echoing in the stands.....is turnovers.
Cody F. has the Duke wide open for TD....but misses...
Fajardo pressured...Jeffcoat strips the ball...Bombers recover!
Finally....a turnover of our very own.
Miller drops 2nd down pass to kill drive...
Leggo pulls the snap down and runs it short of the marker
Turnover #6  This is getting real, real old.....
CF under pressure, but dumps it to Powell, who gets round end for 20
Long pass to Williams incomplete Lauther in for 35 yd attempt....
...and he misses!  Grant almost busts the return - 55 yd runback
Harris bursts through and rolls for 20 yds.  Guy has not lost a thing..
ZC throws to hash mark...Lawler with circus catch to Rider 23...
Zac avoids pressure and finds Demski to the Sask 5
On 2nd down Harris rips it right into the endzone.  TD!!
XP is good....and Bombers finally in the lead 14-10
But Fajardo lobs one to sideline...Taylor undercuts pattern...
...but misses ball and Williams....Duke dekes out Alexander...
...to complete 55 yd touchdown.   Just like that  17-14 Sask
Starting 4th quarter....time for Bomber D to go shutdown mode...
Harris 2 runs for 17.  Zac over the middle to Adams ...
who is making a diving catch for 28 yards.  Dump pass to Demski for 9..
Harris powers down to the 1. 2nd down plunge by McGuire TD!!
Bombers back in front 21-17  10 play 70 yd drive.....
Fajardo lobs ball to sidelines ...Taylor undercuts pattern....
But misses ball and Williams, who rolls down the sideline....
...dekes out Alexander to complete 55 yd TD play.
Just like that....Riders back up 17-14  Queasy feeling...
Harris 2 runs for 17.  Adams makes diving catch for 28
Demski takes dump for 9.  Harris powers right down to the 1
On 2nd down McGuire sneaks it in  TD!  Blue back up 21-17
D gets stop.  Harris stopped short on 2nd down - punt
Riders have ball on their 20 with 3 minutes left!
CF miraculously avoids rush, converts 2nd down
3rd and 4.  Fajardo under throws long pass to Williams..
who gets away with a push off and does he catch it?
Looks iffy....but review upholds 30 yard gain, with 2:15 left
Powell converts another 3rd and short.  CF to Roberts...
....short of marker.  3rd and 3.  1:11 left...
Fajardo throws to the hashmark, but it is knocked down by Taylor!!
Bomber ball with 1:00 left!   Redemption for Nick!
Riders looking for Harris....get Demski round the end for 15
Bombers go into Western Conference Champions Victory Formation!!!!!
Back to the big dance!   Big Blue D saved the day, today....
This coffee and rum is almost as good as gin

I guess Purifoy left the game in a state of 'hangry'.....better tell the local gals in the eateries in town....They might have to call the cops

If we made a list of all the things the bombers would have to do to lose the game…

-commit lots of turn overs (for example six!!)

-bad momentum turn overs (for example an ill-advised Legghio third down gamble)

-take bad penalties (for example Alexander taking a shot on Sprinkles when he was clearly already committed to the slide)

-have an egregiously bad call go against us (for example the command Center calling a catch when the ball clearly bounced off the ground)

and despite all that… this team still found a way to win… that’s the make up of a championship team.

I was on my way to my friends place to watch the game with my gf and we were running late and for the first series there all I hear from the legendary Bob Irving is “HES WIDE OPEN IN THE ENDZONE!” -“TOUCH- OH IT WAS INTERCEPTED!” Needless to say I was confused lol but that on note of how our first half went.

I watched the game from Calgary & turned off the volume on the television. I listened to Bob Irving & Doug Brown on CJOB on my laptop.

I tried listening to CJOB on my phone at the game, but it was too far behind the action that it just didn't make sense.  Listened to the pre and post game shows though.

that ain't happening...He wants to keep playing and am certain he has 2-3 more yrs at least of this calibre play.....he's even said so...best shape of his life too...he aint quiting, and he will be back...I would think all our pending Free-agents will be back, and some will make concessions to make it happen like this yr's team did....especially if we win again and chance to become a true dynasty....

The issue was that I was at the game... I would have needed to delay live action to sync up with the radio
