He had a major stroke about 20 years ago and has been in pretty bad shape since then so I'm glad his suffering is over.

Not surprised, he became or really transitioned into a complete nut job after his UFC stint.   Watching some of the interviews with him in the last several years he was either on a lot of drugs or had really bad CTE.

Could very well be both.  He took a lot of damage in his career so CTE would not be surprising.  And based on what I saw firsthand when he was in town for CFC show, he was (at least at that point in his life) ready and looking for a good time.

he'd been in poor health for some time now, but still really sucks. One of Canada's all time greatest Country artists, and certainly the best from Alberta (the home of Country music in Canada). So many humongous hits, with Four Strong Winds likely being the biggest among them.....
