GCn20 Posted February 8, 2022 Report Posted February 8, 2022 If you have to replace a receiver like Lawler who has great hands, runs great routes, and wins 50/50 balls then Greg Ellingson is one of the guys that fits that mold to a tee. Bigblue204 1

Ellingson could run circles around Duke. http://draftscout.com/dsprofile.php?PlayerId=69761&DraftYear=2011 not saying he still a 4.4 guy...but thats faster than anything Duke ever produced GCn20 1

Goalie Posted February 8, 2022 Report Posted February 8, 2022 (edited) The crazy part... did they have to go 300k? 260 was bc rumor... probably 50k more than bombers offered. Seems excessive. Signs for 100k more than bombers likely offered ish That's just really poor use of money. My guess? Doesn't work out for Kenny... released mid season... sign here again lol Edited February 8, 2022 by Goalie

Meaning Edmonton probably spent or is planning to spend theirs and needed to go excessively high to match BC’s offer that came with a signing bonus. Goalie 1

Seems excessive Edmonton was an absolute gong show last year...300k...yea that's probably the number he had to go to get him. In defense of Jones, he inherited a franchise in disarray and it takes money to lure guys to a rebuild. He needed to establish Edmonton as a destination for free agents and that means some overpaying for a couple years. Edited February 8, 2022 by GCn20

Stickem Posted February 8, 2022 Report Posted February 8, 2022 Even Lawler won't help that bunch out in Edm......La la land money that could have been spent more wisely to improve a floundering team....Jones is being Jones and apparently money is no object in the Igloo

I expect big numbers from whoever we roll out at receiver because our QB has time to find them and the arm to deliver the ball. I am not knocking Lawler but realistically he is not the top receiver in the league last year playing for someone else.
Goalie Posted February 8, 2022 Report Posted February 8, 2022 (edited) I'll be honest 260k is excessive...signing bonus or not for a receiver Edited February 8, 2022 by Goalie
