Punter signing is interesting. Like that they are bringing in competition.

Walters said in Tait's most recent article that they are treating it like every other position this year. A true competition with Americans, Canadians, and Globals; and seeing how the whole roster will shape together.

This guy is a legit prospect to replace Legs. The others, not so much.

Based on what?  He’s not a place kicker in the CFL.  His range is about 35 yards off a tee.  Big leg for punting though.

Bauming must have missed the guy playing for U of C last year.  Thought he usually covers the Bisons.

The only challengers for placekicking are the Americans.

Interesting how deep they are digging on kickers and punters this off-season.  Makes you wonder if they don’t really think they have a shot to re-sign Liegghio or if they don’t want to pay him.

Ya based on his FG stats he's not replacing Leggs as placekicker. Maybe punting (and kick-offs?)

Potential for punts. His kick off numbers are strange. Slightly under 50 yards which isn’t very good. But had a 75 yard punt (plenty of bounce and roll I’m sure) with a big average and 40 some % going more than 50 yards. And his longest fg was 35 yards. 18 fg attempts in total.
Might need polish on kicking off the angle and steps.
Great depth for camp and talent to develop.

I bet there’ll be an incoming global as well. A 2-man operation is possible.

Wonder if it’ll be Hackett coming back. 2 punters 2 kickers.

The one guy is a defensive end.

The other guy screams SAM, strong half or maybe even WIL to me.  As a 6'2 195 guy he's had seasons with 20 plus TFL/sacks so he's playing close to the line.

Classic college pass rushing tweener. Love rangey athletic defensive ends. Guys like that who can get sideline to sideline and come in in the back of down field plays make a lot happen.

Big sams who can play well in the box are fantastic to have too.
Scout team is killing it as always this off season.

So my wife knows one of the Bomber team doctors from her professional work with him. We ran into him last night at the hockey game, and in the course of chatting he mentioned that Zach Collaros has still not recovered from his ankle sprain, in fact there has been a regression. Doctors were hoping it would progress on its own, but they are all but certain now that he actually tore some ligaments and it will require a surgical intervention. The club is keeping things hush hush for now because they don’t want to submarine season ticket sales, especially because they are going to throw in an “early bird” Grey Cup multi-season ticket package deal, and they don’t want sales to fall off a cliff. Bottom line, they are likely to announce a surgery in the coming weeks, and he will be out of commission for at least the first two months of the season at best.

This was their attempt today.

I actually would love to see Willie get some reps on O lining up in the slot. The opposing DB and Lbers would be crapping their pants. I doubt he would ever get open, but it sure would be fun to watch.
