Spending days in a diaper sitting in a wheelchair while drooling and unresponsive is not living, it is just existing. Sounds like how I spent the 4th quarter of the Grey Cup this year... iHeart Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 (edited) The gales of November came early you know I still remember years ago when CJOB falsely reported his death and well Lightfoot found out about it while he was at the dentist and he called them to say he wasn't dead Edited October 24, 2023 by iHeart Mark F and Piggy 1 2

Piggy 1 Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 A true Canadian icon. RIP ,good Sir. the watcher, Noeller, Fatty Liver and 5 others 8
the watcher Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 I was a huge Lightfoot fan. A brilliant writer and especially in his earlier years a great singer. His very first album was amazing. My son is a huge music fan but was so so on Lightfoot till he listened to it. It converted him. Like the obit says, Icon doesn't do him justice. blue_gold_84, Fatty Liver and JCon 3
blue_gold_84 Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 A music legend. And immortalized on the greatest sitcom ever: Noeller and the watcher 1 1
kelownabomberfan Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 every Canadian household should own a copy of "Gord's Gold" lol....I've listened to it so many times I know every word of every song. Fatty Liver, the watcher, Noeller and 1 other 4
Noeller Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 a friend of mine in HS had a copy of a generic Greatest Hits album of Lightfoot's, and I remember it was Rainy Day People that first hooked me. As I got older, and into broadcasting and then music programming, I really understood the genius of his works. Cochrane once described Lightfoot as "akin to one of the Group Of 7 painters..." and that's a really great way to describe his cultural impact. Lightfoot, Tyson, Connors....... few wrote about various aspects of Canada better. kelownabomberfan, blue_gold_84, JCon and 2 others 5
