EDM doesn't look like they're even close to being in the playoff conversation yet.

I'd go as far to say almost professional level contention haha

Looking down their bench during the last game said it all.....I think the word 'disillusioned' comes to mind and some of them looked like they wanted to head to the next watering hole to forget it all....pronto

I'd be scouring their PR for any moves or shuffling they did....typical of a Jones run team...they may park someone there who is actually worthwhile grabbing, and who would say no to being plucked from there??...

Chris Jones will do that...this is what he has done since leaving Sask...I just don't know why he keeps getting chances:

Cleveland Browns

On January 15, 2019, one week after signing a contract extension with the Roughriders, Jones resigned from the Roughriders to take a two-year contract with the Cleveland Browns as their Senior Defensive Specialist. After one season, Jones was removed from the coaching staff with the hire of new head coach Kevin Stefanski and placed in an office position for the 2020 season.

South Pittsburg High School

In April 2021, Jones was named the head coach of his high school Alma Mater, the South Pittsburg Pirates in Marion County, Tennessee. He notably ended the school's nearly century-old rivalry game with neighboring Marion County High School for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, in part due to suspicions that a Marion County fan turned South Pittsburg in for recruiting violations during the 2020 season, resulting in South Pittsburg being placed on probation. Jones resigned from the position on September 13 after coaching only one game, a win against Sequatchie County High School, in order to return to a defensive position with the Toronto Argonauts.

Return to CFL

On September 21, 2021, the Toronto Argonauts announced they had hired Chris Jones as a defensive consultant. Two months later, on December 21, 2021, it was announced that Jones had returned to Edmonton to become the head coach and general manager of the renamed Edmonton Elks.

What is going on with Dillion Mitchell? Dude has 4 catches for 5 yards in 3 games. Completely uninvolved with the team.

So far it seems like we have a few good teams in BC, Wpg, and T.O, with Sask, Cal. Mtrl flirting with being a good team and then we have Ott, Edm, and Hammy who don't look anywhere close to being good this year.

So who is the real top tog, BC, Wpg, T.O

And who is the true bottom feeder Edm or Hammy

Winnipeg is still the tops of the West until proven otherwise. One bad game does not make them anything less or any other team anything more. If that were the case then Hamilton would have been Grey Cup champs last year after the butt kicking they gave us one game.

Sorry but a VAJ led team will never be consistent enough to dethrone us. He is streaky, always has been and always will be. There is a reason he is a 8 year QB in this league with only one full season as a starter.

You don’t have to win more than one game to dethrone “the champs”

I hope for the sake of the league Hamilton gets their **** together and finishes strong.

you have to win one game in Nov, not June, to dethrone the champs... that said... BC plays the actual champs this week

Meh...in football you are what you are. And right now BC is top dog. I've always thought VA could be a solid CFL qb. I'm glad he's gotten a good chance. By all accounts his TC was great, and he's said he feels the most comfortable he's ever felt in this O scheme. I wish more qbs got the time to develop into a good CFL qb. We need it.

True...but I am yet to see that game happen in June. I've seen a lot of Grey Cup championship teams get clobbered early in the season when having a bad game.

BC is temporarily the top dog. The cream will rise to the top.

Adams always had potential, but it took him 8 years to fulfill it.

Footnote: The jury has yet to decide if he can maintain it.

I've seen some incredible performances from Vernon Adams in the past few years, only to be followed by long stretches of mediocrity. 8 years in a tiger doesn't change his stripes. Hell in Montreal he lit us up really bad one game too. I am not a VAJ believer. History tells me not to be.

Well yeah. No one is on top forever.

Another good one gone for the season:

Bob Dyce says DeVonte Dedmon is out for the season with a shoulder injury.

wow that's brutal... that's their best player, right there. Poor Bobby D. What a mess to inherit.

The #Elks are releasing QB Kai Locksley. Tre Ford will be back on the active roster this week.

well the way he was looking yesterday on the sidelines...someone will pick him up - maybe Hamilton...maybe Ottawa.

Jones circus continues.... drops a guy for one fumble. Guarantee Locksley went to him  pissed off and Jones told him where to go and how to get there. What an absolutely gong show...
