Zack would put in an effort...A Strev would literally run his ass down....so yeah...I would want to see my guy make an effort....as would anyone on the team want to see their leader make an effort....If your leader gives up...what does that tell your squad??...I'm talking from a place of experience and playing at a high stakes level...not as a delusional fan

The correct situation there is to obviously prevent the score. In fact Collaros was put in the situation - in a more meaningful game scenario, he stopped a fumble return in the 2021 Western Final against SSK from being a scoop and score. SSK did eventually punch it in, but the fact you at least give the D a chance to make the stand is much better.

Also, just from a morale standpoint, nothing is more demoralizing to an offense than a defensive touchdown.

I was coached and taught, and bring this to the young men I interact with now that you're a football player, and you make football plays when they need to be.....regardless of position

I thought their defense played very well.  I also thought Oulette had some good runs - but was underused.

Ouelette underused is a story we've heard before. When teams get behind they abandon the run.

At the bare minimum, I would expect Zach to employ the patented Bob Cameron road bump method....

I don't care who you are and what your odds of catching the guy are, I always taught the players I coached that if we are in the chase position we are going to make that sucker run for his TD. We will make the play as tough as we can no matter what. Giving up is for losers. What if the guy tripped on his shoelaces and we weren't there to tag him down.

YUP...same...Like I said early...been trained and train my guys today that you are a football player first and foremost, and you make football plays in whatever form it is...regardless of position or stature on team....and no ifs and or buts about it

And like u said...guy could stumble...lose handle on ball...start to show boat cause he thinks he's free and clear....giving up is exactly that...for losers and guys not honouring their brothers...A mantra that is as solid as solid can be in our locker room

Haven't rewatched this game yet. But how many carries did their RBs get? I saw that Harris had....4. not sure on AJ. Just seems like an obvious answer to their Kelly problem that game. Their run game had been their bread and butter all year.

Did MTL just take it away?

Oulette did pretty well with carries he got. Did not pay that much attention, so not sure how much the Als stacked the box.

there were no tourists in that situation....none

Bang on assessment.

Consider that at the half the turnovers were 4-1 for Montreal and they were only up by 7. Toronto was still right in it.  In the 2021 West Final the Bombers were trailing 10-7 at the half with 5 turnovers to zero against. And Collaros ran down the Sask defender with a two blocker escort on the second one instead of quitting on the play. And look how each team responded in the second half in those situations. Kelly and the Argos allowed themselves to be defeated in the moment and crumbled in the second half. That Bomber team sucked it up and flipped the script to gain a win.

Argo fans on social media are still trying to justify Chad kelly (probably) going to win the MOP Award by saying he was the best qb in the league because his team won 16 games. That's it. They won 16 games. That makes him automatically the best. As if  winning the most games had anything to do with it.  They don't like the criticism that Kelly is getting from other team's fanbases. Anyone see Bluto, yet?

A segment of their beat reporters think that because this is Kelly's first year as starter and that he hasnt played  football for a while should contribute to the MOP nod. They are clueless.

Having the mentality of never giving up on a play separates the good from the great and exemplifies pure athleticism is not enough.

Really that's what really separates Kelly and collaros. Collaros tosses a few ints and he just keeps playing. Same really as our last game vs. Montreal. Kelly meanwhile gets overwhelmed and essentially gives up and pouts.

Argos could have easily won that game if Kelly wasn't a total suck.

This is basically how everyone is justifying it... because the stats don't back up him being the best... I'd rank Kelly 3rd, at best, this year behind Collaros and Adams.

QB's need to be like high end goaltenders, erase from memory goal just let in and move forward.

Kelly was more like the goalie that couldn't and needed to be pulled.

You guys are knit picking here.

- i for one would never want nor expect to see Zach running down a defensive player on a pick... Dude's role is to pilot the offense and sling the rock... not chasing down and tackling an opponent.

I can't remember the exact play but there was an occasion during a recent playoff game where Collaros made an extremely key tackle after a pick and prevented a TD.

Now if you're an OL - you're ready to knock down walls for this guy.

Kelly had so many wide open receivers this year. I wonder how well he will do next year when they can't afford quite as good a team around him. Do the Argos have the same culture that allows them to keep a lot of vets around? Im guessing no. But we shall see

Isn't Oakman up too? Or did he re-up last year?

These are the twenty or thirty somethings who think the CFL began in 2005 & their best chance at adulthood is to grow a Movember moustache. We've had a few covering the Stamps for Postmedia. They all dream about leaving Calgary & covering the Raptors, Jays or Leafs.

As someone who has a movember mustache and got season tickets in 2005 that was a roller coaster for me. (though I was a Bomber fan well before that year)
